Listened to Sven on Sky Sports and woke up three days later. If Leicester win I'm sure he'll manage a slight smile. Contrast that with our own bouncy bunny. Couldn't bear to listen to Sven's post-match reports on a regular basis. I know it's results that count, but I'd rather have Nigel's enthusiasm anyday.
Nige certainly does have a bouncy 'Tiggerish' enthusiasm. Being a manager, it does help if you have a personality, which Sven does not.
I don't know how Sven does it. He has again walked into a club that have backed him with substantial transfer funds. All this for a guy who lives off some 'success' that happened in the early stages of his managerial career. With that drone I certainly wouldn't want to be a Leicester player in the dressing room 2-0 down at half time and looking for inspiration! In Nigel we trust.
Sven's problem (as with Fabio Capello) is that he can organize a team, as shown by England qualifying for tournaments (as they jolly well should), but can't make important split-second decisions that win cups. Nigel's strength seems to be that he can see problems and rectify it during a 90 min match (remarkably rare in Saints managers). I'm not saying we'll finish above Leicester because there are other factors, but Sven's teams do as well as you'd expect whereas Nigel makes teams exceed expectations. I agree with SurreySaint that I would rather look to Nigel to inspire me if we're down 2.0.
no no no , Tommy Lion. Even they were a bit ropey! Unless of course you are Sven's age and have a shiny top and a slippery demeanor
