i think i know this story! didn't a young sven (if such a thing existed) ask sir bobby for experience at ipswich? he sat him on the bench during a game. that's all i've heard
During the 1979/80 season I believe. A young Alex Ferguson also came down to Ipswich for some advice from Bobby.
i chatted to sir bobby on two occasions - i cannot understand why i'm not currently managing one of the biggest clubs in europe! it makes no sense - everyone else he comes into contact with does!!
Anyone hear about that story a few years back when Burley was manager? I think he was visiting a family who looked after one of our youngsters and Bobby Robson came with him and Robson brought with him his interprete(Mourinho) and a young lad who wanted to get some coaching experience AVB!! Pretty amazing that all those 4 were sitting in a little house in Ipswich!!
yeah. i did apply once! i was pipped to the post by gary megson in my defence i was about 13 but i still believe i'd have done a better job than he did!
