Liverpool have today confirmed Suso has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 18-year-old committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on the deal at Melwood.

Moments after signing the contract, Suso told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am really happy. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and this is the right place for me.

"I am happy Brendan has shown trust in me. I had no questions about signing a new deal and I am really glad to have done so.

"I am comfortable here. I have played some games for the first team and I hope to continue doing that, but I need to work hard every day for that to happen.

"This is one of the best days of my life."

Suso joined Liverpool from hometown club Cadiz in 2010.

The Spaniard impressed at both youth and reserve-team levels before being handed his senior debut in the Europa League victory over Young Boys in September.

He has since gone on to make four more appearances for the first team, winning plenty of praise for his mature displays in the process.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said: "We are all delighted Suso has committed his long-term future to Liverpool Football Club.

"At 18, he has demonstrated outstanding technical qualities but also shown very good temperament to play for such a prestigious club.

"His commitment is very good news for all our young Academy players and the excellent work taken place by the Academy coaches and staff."

****er you beat me to it.

Nice to see Rodgers in the pictures and not Ian Ayres. The Managing director doesn't look right posing for pictures with players

Our own David Silva. Think he will be so instrumental for us. If Teixeira can come along like many say then that will be nice as well.

Stadium getting redeveloped and now this....

    Very good week for LFC....

Suso is world class in the making and is going to be massive for us over the coming years.........

Knew it was going to be a good day when Dani pacheco scored a sublime curler....

Going to go down the bookies and put a bet on Suso scoring/getting injured tomorrow depending on how confident/cynical im feeling when I get there.....

Cant wait for the game tomorrow....Just hope we turn up and put them to the sword.

Great news, happier to hear he has signed, more so than Sterling. Saying that though, hope he signs too soon.

Fantastic news. He is going to be huge for us in the future. Just imagine a front 4 in a couple of years time of Sterling Suarez Suso and Texiera. We nearly have that now!

Signing new deals is not about loyalty in today's game. It's a way for clubs to ensure they get the best possible price if players want to leave. Brendan made it clear when City wanted Agger that a big offer for anybody will be entertained, then they're signing a new deal with Agger. Because they love him so much.

Indeed, if agents are asking for renewed deals when a player has only served a year or so of their current contract, as in Suarez's case, then I'd suspect they're inserting buyout clauses and that makes me wonder why.

Nice to see you're still the miserable ****er you always were <ok>

I'm sure if Kenny/Rafa signed Suso under this new deal it would be fantastic man management.

His contract ran out at the end of this year... what did you want us to do leave it until the very last moment and risk another club picking him up in Jan on a Bosman?

Excellent news, let's hope he keeps his head down and continues to work on his game and push on to be the class player we all hope/think he can become.
