I thought we may put another of couple of names together in this window. I guess it all comes down to loans now. Why can't we seem to find a wide man or two??? I think we are a top ten club right at this moment...we need something extra to be looking at playoffs!
I'm with you Siam. A couple of wide men are a must. At least we've got the loan window. I was hoping for 1-2 more yesterday and was also expecting 1-2 to move out. I'm reasonably comfortable with the squad overall but repeat the need for a couple of wingers. I'm sure Malky will have irons in the fire. the 25 man squads are named this week. Just need to wait and see what is left over. Perhaps Bellamy will be surplus to requirements at Liverpool and they'll loan him to us.
We need a bit more creativity probably from a wide man with pace. At least with Kiss and Gunnar coming back Mason is back into play as an attacking option/sub. I'll be suprised if we don't load a winger though. Agree with that and the auto's are surely beyond this squads reach. As has been shown before that 6th place is normally up for grabs till the very end. I'd take scrapping into the playoffs now if it was offered.
It's a real shame that Burke left. With the new work ethic we have at the moment, I think he would have enjoyed this season. Wonder if he regrets leaving? So loans it is. I am happy also with what we have put together, but I am hoping we get some creative pace in a loan signing!! Still a very interesting season to look forward to
Looks like Livermore and Townsend will be in Spurs 25 so no go there and I think Lansbury went from Ar5ena1 yesterday as well. In the absence of any information coming from the club (and rightly so) does anyone else have any runners for the loan window race?
Bellamy from Liverpool? Seriously though, I'm not that up on fringe players from prem teams. A lot of late deals were done meaning players in, but not out. With S R-P going to QPR there may be cast offs there. There will be spares in lots of clubs. With MMs focus on work ethic and a more passing game, we must be an attractive club to loan youngsters to.
We will be promoted this year. Autos are not beyond us, and playoff position is a certainty. I've never been a KTF promoter, and am not going to start now, but this squad is so different to last season that I can se it happening because of just that. It had gone stale under DJ, and for all the good he did for this club, I don't subscribe to the belief that we will miss him nor the selection of some players (now gone) that he assembled in his efforts to get us there. We still need some pace out wide admittedley, but that's Malky and the board's job in the loan market now that this ludicrous transfer window is closed. With Bellers now out of the frame, this international break should see some inward movement even with Parkin's wages still to be found.
Will the loan window be open for our outward bound players or is it just to allow Prem clubs to offload surplus players? If so then surely the Beast and Gyepes plus possibly Taiwo and a youngster or 2 will be farmed out. I guess we would have to pay someone to take Nayls. Finding Parkin's wages? Has anyone checked his stomach contents? I would like to know if we will take on any of the triallists.
I don not understand why the club doesn't just release them. Am I missing something? I thought Parkin was on a 1 year deal so what is the problem? Some of the others like Naylor must be due to go anyway. Why are they sitting there taking the money and knowing they are not wanted? We had the same problem when DJ first arrived. Why don't they accept it and go and actually play every saturday in a lower league??
On 1 January 2011, Parkin signed for Welsh team Cardiff City on a two-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Parkin
Either I'm completely missing the sarcasm in your post here Snaggs, or you are one seriously naive git (no offence like)...........
I think we are in a bit of a cleft stick, our squad is weak numbers wise, so we can't really afford to ship people out until we have replacements lined up, and it looks like the budget won't run to quality replacements, whilst we still have certain players on our books, if we just released for instance Parkin (who is reputedly on decent money) Naylor and Gypes, well we would have to pay up their contracts, so we would be cutting the squad numbers, and it would cost us money..........maybe we could ship Gypes and Naylor out to L1 sides..........but Coventry wouldn't match Parkin's wages which is why the deal fell through...........perhaps we could do a Bellamy type of deal, (albeit on a much smaller scale) and subsidise him on a loan to a a L1 side...........at least it would free up some cash, perhaps shipping these three out for instance, (whilst paying 50% of Parkin's wages?) might free up money for two decent replacements at a rate that could be affordable. The Malaysians are spending money fair enough, but have always said they are in for the long haul, and won't wreck the wage structure..........word has it that they got their fingers burnt a bit last season, and were convinced that paying "big" money (by championship standards) that promotion was a formality.........they are older and wiser this season, money IS available, but it has to be for the right players on the owners terms, and they will pay decent championship wages, but sensible long term growth is the plan, so unless we can pick up a couple of decent PL loanees, well it looks like what we see is what we got, although apparently MM still has a few "irons in the fire"............and if we are in contention (top 8?) at Christmas..........then the scenario could well change...........don't shoot the messenger lads, that's the way I got it
If we would be happy with survival that would be giving up, we have always planned on getting promoted and this season is no different. The squad is coming together nicely and soon we have more players in so until we actually know how the main team will look I don`t see how anyone can say how we will do. Right now we are doing ok. It is ok thinking there are stronger teams but they all have to play each other so that could work out in our favour. Hull, Norwich, Blackpool and Swansea did it against the odds so I am certain we can too.
We will be promoted this year. Autos are not beyond us, and playoff position is a certainty. What are you smoking sparkey ????? you need to stop pal and get back to reality..
