Our chance creation rate is woeful. The stats show we are as low as the teams in the relegation zone. Our chance conversion rate is high ( as you’d expect given we create few but were scoring a lot).

so with an embarrassment of creative flair players in the squad I’d imagine there’s much scope for working with what we have and getting more chances created for the strikers we have.

Until then, u can sign lewndowski but if you can’t cross, pass, do through balls or any other recognised way of teeing up your CFs we’ll still not score.

if u take the 3 big wins we had out of the equation, our goal scoring is also very poor so it’s a stat that needs some context.

I’d say we might not need a striker If we keep Bonne but we do need to get much much better at chance creation cos only Wes burns is really doing that consistently well. When he plays, he scores or sets someone up. Every time just about. Time for the rest to chip in.

Personally i think our midfield doesnt create nearly enough chances for our front players, there seems to be a mental block when it comes to getting the ball in the box so its sideways and backwards until the ball is lost, to be fair there is a failure on our forwards part to pile in the box so we have one player only in there surrounded by 5 defenders and a keeper, they need some serious coaching if we are to progress and hopefully McK and team will be able to change the way we are playing going forward.

The stat I always look for is how many corners we win. That shows the players(or more precisely Burns) is getting behind the defence and to the byline. The last really successful period we had under MM we won shedloads.

Stats only tell you so much. They don’t tell you the real cause. If they did then the whole league would be decided by money only and all the gambling firms would go bust overnight. Our minds are super computers far more powerful than any statistical analysis.
