Sad times when we have to rely on other teams doing us a favour. But I find myself cheering on Stoke, it's a weird feeling.
Southampton aren't safe yet, don't expect any quarter whatsoever, when Sunderland play them. However, Southamtpon aren't safe yet; and given Stoke are on a roll; possibly the one team you wouldn't wish to face needing a result. If Stoke win tonight, they will park the bus big time vs. Southampton. It gets better - red card for Sunderland (I have no sympathy for any of our fellow relegation contenders. I hope they all lose and drop points so that we may survive!
Southampton aren't quite safe yet, so they should be going for it. But both teams would see it as a winnable game.
Saints last game is against Stoke, who would be the worlds worst nightmare to need a result. They have built a reputation on parking the bus after all.
Think it'll be better for us if Southampton beat Sunderland. But it all depends if we can win against West Brom and I'm not really feeling all that confident about it all.
Two gems from the Toon board: 1) "Wigan are just a total waste of space - They do nothing but sit in the bottom three for the majority of the season then when it's April/ May time they decide to grind out some results. Shockingly bad side, with a senile old tit for an owner, the most overrated manager in England (if he was any good he'd have taken them to mid table and above) and a collection of fans who can only be described as quieter than a funeral service. The sooner they disappear back to the lower leagues where they belong, the better." 2) "Having to root for Stoke? Pardew deserves the sack for that alone"
