I can't see it to be honest. I reckon it'll be Wigan, Blackburn and Bolton with Sunderland 17th possibly. Just can't see the other 3 getting anything substantial in terms of points.

In all honesty i want them to stay up, wouldn't be the same without derby days!

Nah. I think Brucie will get ditched before long and they do have enough players with the ability to win games. They differ from us when we went down in that they don't have a bunch of mercenaries who take the fat paycheck knowing if they drop they'll find another club. Once Bruce is out the next manager will get a run together to keep them up. Problem for them is next season and the new managers ability to either get the squad continually performing or having the funds to replace ageing and poor players.

They'll stay up. They have a decent enough squad to stay up, certainly better than the likes of blackburn

There are 3 worse teams than them, when Bruce goes they'll be fine.

Blackburn and Wigan to go, and one from the rest (Wolves, Bolton (think they'll sort it out tho) and think at least one or two of the promoted clubs) will be dragged into it.

I like Martinez, so I hope Wigan stay up. Played well against us too I thought.

Am I the only one who actually wants them to go down?

Hate derby days, bring out the worst types of supporters of both teams (part timers who think they'rer mint cause they go to one game a year and bitter losers). Also, the PMT is unbearable! Brilliant when we win though, which tbh happens a lot ;)

Unfortunately, think Wigan, Blackburn and Wolves will go down. Good riddance to them boring ****ers too if they do go down!

I like Martinez and think he will end up in a good PL job sooner or later regardless of what happens at Wigan. I think their time is up in the PL tho, that'll be no bad reflection on Martinez.

Love Martinez, but don't like anyone in their team apart from Al-Habsi and their fans do my head in!

I'd rather Wigan, Blackburn and Stoke to go down (not going to happen). However if they keep a hold of brucey there is a realisitc chance they could go down, they did lose to Wigan!

I think it's a tough call finding three worse teams at the moment. Blackburn seem determined to keep a hold of Kean who I think will take them down where as Wigan, as poor as they have been; I think keeping Martinez is their best hope for survival. Ditto Bolton; should stay up depending what deals Coyle gets in January. Stoke, Wolves and perhaps Fulham in for a tough season. As far as I can remember (bearing in mind I only really pay full attention to Newcastle) no teams been regularly spanked and there's no sign of anyone being cut adrift.

No. Simply put, there are at least 3 teams worse than them (and probably a few more).

Then again, just look at the squad we got relegated with and the kind of XI we put out:

    ----------------Given--------------------
    Beye --- Bassong --- Coloccini --- Enrique
    Jonas --- Butt --- Guthrie --- Duff-------
    -----------Owen --- Martins-------------

Along with occasional appearances from N'Zogbia, Barton and Nolan.

The relegation of that side wasn't down to a lack of quality. It was down to a lack of drive, motivation and team spirit. Whilst I highly doubt Sunderland would falter due to a lack of quality (their team is too good for that) no one can say for sure whether they could lose the will to fight like we did when we went down.

I'm hoping they get relegated. <ok>

I would dearly love to see them playing Oxford United in League 2. <cheers>...

They could go down because of all the unrest around the club just like we did. They are already in the scrap and if they lose to Wolves and Blackburn well.
