Market Rasen 2.30 TORRENTIAL RAINE 10-1 ran well when not beaten far by Home Run in December, more to come!
Im going against you in the 3.30 Bob with the favourite Thunderstorm. Ive been on him everytime since stick initially flagged him up and he hasnt let me down since. Won his last three fairly comfortably even if the winning margins suggest otherwise and i think he has plenty more still to come and can handle this 12lb rise and go in again. Probably play the double with Whisper in the 2.20 Ffos Las. Won a bumper convincingly before winning a novice hurdle well over the course and distance. Ran in a very good race last time at cheltenham when At Fishers Cross just touched off The New One and ran a creditable race as he was still bang there and travelling well before ultimately proving outclassed. Nicky Henderson must rate the horse if he was willing to enter him into that race and can bounce back to winning ways here
Market Rasen 4.30 Local Present 8/1 Takes a step up in trip here to 3m after running at Musselburgh only 4 days ago over 2m 4f, takes a drop in grade also.
I agree 12lbs is a big hike, harsh too I would say however I think he is still improving and I also think the longer trip will suit too. The way my look is going at the moment though he will probably fall at the last!
The price is not huge as one of his main market rivals has been taken out this morning, however I cannot see this horse being beaten today. The horse has been knocking on the door in France and this his second race for Charlie Longsdon, I feel they have found a good opportunity today. Ffos Las 2.50 Orange Nassau 2-1 I also really fancy your Bar De Ligne Bob, Good luck with it.
Maybe I won't be backing whisper at 1/2 I should wait till the prices are up before posting write ups for horses
Do you have info on DUNLUCE CASTLE then Bob. I tipped the fav on his debut when he ran into a good un, the Longsdon horse is useful and there is a real springer in the form of SHAMELESS MAN 66's in to 14's. So if your boy is nailed on then he must be a lot better than his p2p form?????
No info Stick I'm just a believer! Not spoken to Steve about the horse. It just fits all the criteria I've spoken to him about when they buy a horse. That owner is the yards main owner and he spends over half a million a year with Steve. When he runs it at this track with AP up it screams to me he's ready to win.
Thanks mate. So many in the race that I can make a case for. Probably best to leave it alone. McCain does have an excellent record with his bumpers here (4/9)
Western Warhorse is a fascinating runner in the first at Ffos Las, the owner knows a good horse when he sees one and he had two second places yesterday with Sadler's Risk and the interesting Sail By The Sea. This one comes from the pointing scene and they paid a pretty penny for him at Brightwells in December. He is from a good family (dam half sister to Mr Baxter Basics amongst others) and it is interesting that he has entries in the big novice races at the festival. He has been a bit weak in the market this morning, but if the money comes before the off, I can see him giving Whisper a good race. I don't like the Nick Williams horse in the race, and the top one has to defy a penalty. Therefore at 12/1 I think he is a each way bet. I have also done a little EW bet on It's Oscar in the 2.30 at Market Rasen, he looks to be coming to form at last and I think his mark is fair for handicapping. I also wonder if they will ride him with more restraint today, and see if they can keep a bit of stamina back.
