I notice all the Liverpool fans are standing. Yet it is the Spirit Of Anfield group who constantly oppose the introduction of safe standing.

Never understood how they can allow any standing in an area with seats. It must be much more dangerous having a seat back at knee level than it was with proper barriers in standing areas. If you get what i mean.

It happens everywhere with no problems. . I take your point, the safe standing areas in Germany are far better as regards the comfort and safety of spectators (and harder for anyone intent on causing trouble to clamber over). Unfortunately a lot of police forces and local authorities seem to regard standing up as some sort of act which could cause a breakdown in law and order and the end of civilisation as we know it. You only have to read the utterings of the self important, clueless twats at the SAG meeting to realise that.

I love Heurelho Gomes, can either be brilliant or a Jakupovic type, fancy him to keep Liverpool at bay

That Sakho is useless, don't know how much money they spent but the likes of Hansen and Lawrenson must be appalled by him

The one I have noticed with 8 rows of segregation this weekend was at Stoke.
Watched a bit of the Watford game. Noticeable for the different approach to stewarding. Stood out of the way, most of them more interested in the game than staring at the fans giving the impression they are just itching to eject someone for something, just anything. No dashing in front of the fans waging their arms about after a goal as though celebrating your team scoring was something rather subversive and to be clamped down on. No marching round the perimeter getting spoiling the view of those at the front with 10 minutes to go either. Needless to say the atmosphere came across as better than at the KC.
Rather refreshing to see all three promoted teams playing football and having a go at the opposition, especially away from home instead of having the attitude we have a point so let's hang on to it and if we do score spend the rest of the game trying to hang on to a for a one nil victory. At the same time a bit galling that with our population we should be bigger than any of the three. Shows what can be done with everyone pulling together.
