SABROCLAIR 16/1 Worcester 2.20 Slipped to handy mark and much more suitable trip than the one he was asked to make last time. Bold show expected. Also interested in Kashmir Peak later on the card. Having his first outing for the Skelton's.
Flat cap and whippet day at Ponte races for Father's Day. Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated if anyone has any fancies. I see there's a few short price favourites but they don't interest me so if anyone has owt at a decent price please feel free to share
Money about early for it alright but it has shown absolutely nothing. Was beaten 50 lengths last time it raced over this trip! The money may suggest "they know" Best of luck
First visit to Chantilly for the Prix de Diane, so having to post early... Warning for those planning on making the trek there for this year’s Arc: looking on the France Galop website, normal entry for this fixture costs €20 (twice the cost for the Prix Du Jockey Club) and Arc day is €30 at the gate. Only three foreign raiders have snatched the prize in the last twenty years, although one of them was Star of Seville last year, giving Frankie Dettori a second success. Eight years ago Zarkava was victorious and three years ago it was Treve. There do not appear to be any strong candidates for the Arc double in this year’s field – and it has only been done a handful of times. The top-rated runner today is one of the raiders, Ballydoyle, not seen since chasing home stablemate Minding at Newmarket. She is joined by Coolmore, who would have to find a lot to feature here. Last year’s winning stable is represented by Swiss Range, victorious in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Guineas meeting, form franked at Royal Ascot by Even Song. The home team is led by the Pouliches winner La Cressonniere, who ought to have enough stamina for the extended ten furlongs and will surely be favourite on the PMU. Her stablemate, beaten Pouliches’ favourite Qemah, won at Ascot to frank the form. Those that represent the most trouble to the Pouliches winner are stablemate Jemayel (winner of the Prix Saint-Alary, the main Diane trial, with Camprock second and Left Hand fourth) and the supplemented pair Volta (won the Prix De Sandringham on Prix Du Jockey Club day) and Highlands Queen (won Group 3 Prix Cleopatre over trip). There are two Group 3 races on the supporting card but it does not look like either will present a decent betting prospect. In the race before the Diane, the Prix Bertrand Du Breuil, last year’s Newmarket 2000 Guineas runner-up Territories contests the mile event against pretty ordinary looking opposition, having warmed up with third in the Prix Du Palais-Royal behind Attendu and Esoterique. Last season’s Prix Daniel Wildenstein winner Impassable makes her debut but her penalty means she has to give Andre Fabre’s colt weight. The other thoroughbred Group race is the third race on the card, the Prix Du Lys, but with just six facing the starter and substantial PMU deductions it is hard to think that any of them will be great odds. Canessar has won both his starts this year but steps up in trip, Spring Master won over course and distance, as did twice-raced Maniaco and thrice-raced filly Golden Valentine. It would be ironic if one of them turned out to be the Arc winner but currently an unheralded improver. There is another Group 1 race on the card, the Qatar Derby Des Pur-Sang Arabe, but what I know about Arab race form would not cover a postage stamp...
Certainly worth a bet but surely one of three biggest bottlers of all time (Westwood, Garcia and Dustin) will finally win! Got a huge antipost bet on Johnson and could have cashed out yesterday for a huge profit but have decided to let it roll for my sins.
Nautical Nitwit at Hexham.... no it's not what I was called in the Navy. Hughsey has some other good rides so have a look at them as always Stay Frosty
He's a real nice lad too, honest and genuine. Shall I cash out now??? Big Dustin striking brilliantly too.
He bought a nice house out the Rathgar area ste, his friend runs a little kiosk there down by the river...bumped into him there once and he was very shy. My cousin won a competition to play Bunclody GC in Wexford here with him and also said he was really nice and helped him out a lot on the day. Be a great victory but 18 holes to go and it's a proper US Open course unlike recent years so anything can happen.
Greetings from Chantilly, where it is 18 degrees and occasionally sunny. When I get back I will post some photos somehow, but they claim the capacity is 30,000 for Arc day - they must be including the infield (where they are holding a party) as this is not much bigger than Deauville. Plenty of totty here wearing haut couture and hats - like a one day Royal Ascot. Guess that is why it is €20 to get in - unless some kind old Frenchman gives you a free ticket while you are in the ticket queue. Who would have thought that Coolmore would win a claimer with a Canford Cliffs colt trained by Andre Fabre?
His fecking gut tells that story Ste Big par putt on 18, very well done. How much they offering you STH?
€152 Oddy. €317 if he wins. Just did 2.50 each way...I did Na and Walker as well. I like to try smaller bets on the bigger value players in the golf. Madness placing big bets in what is essentially a game where they are all racing off level weight
Yarrow has got to be worth a bet in the 3 40 Pontefract at 40/1, surely it will live up to some of it's promise sometime soon, so well bred
Ah for small stakes I'd be tempted to let it ride, although €152 ain't bad at all. Maybe wait until he's played the first 9 in his final round?
