Suppose we may be of the opinion that Patterson's value is only going to decrease from here and now is the ideal time to cash-in.

 

Would be disappointing to see another chip away at the academy narrative. At least Johanssonn counts as HG though

Might free up some wriggle room though for quality in the positions we need to strengthen. Sadly Patto will not give us that quality much as a I like the idea.

 

Would we really make loads of profit on Patterson compared to what it'd cost to get Johansson?

 

Probably not. Imagine the prices will be similar. We’d just get to book Johansson over 4 years. Feels like a bit of a diversion to me though.

 

I think Johansson is the better GK, more experience too. I wouldn’t have any problems with him coming in if Patterson was away.

 

Not for me. When things were up against his side at Wembley he bottled it. Not the type we need. Has a lot of quality, but not on my list any more

 

I’m generally fine with it - particularly as he’s HG at least. I do wonder what it does to our academy reputation in the medium term, but it’s fine. It’s just a deal that doesn’t really do a hell of a lot for us. It may well be January before we’d see Johansson play.

 

As I once said to cyprus sid I went to every one of their home fairs cup games. No affinity just the chance to see foreign teams and players and it was free entry thanks to my elder brother. Alse went to see them play Tottenham so I could see Jimmy Greaves and Pat Jennings two of my favourite players at the time
