Not worried about the lack of pace in defence. Teams like Brentford and Everton have managed alright without it over the years.

Pace we have on the counter as well means if we are pressed, and break the press, we are a threat.

That said if the RCB we sign has a bit of pace that would be a blessing.

Taking everything into consideration, fee/wages/experience, he's probably my favourite signing so far ...

... if CIrkin gets his act together we're covered in that area.

Only becomes a problem if you want to play a high aggressive line, which we probably won't the vast majority of the time
Ballard and Alderete are made for games like City/Liverpool where they will barely touch the ball unless its to head/kick it away

Yep i think we will be after a real quality CB to go alongside him - bade been strongly linked still and he's a different level.

I think we will go big on 2 more signings at least then use a loan on another forward option

We’re in danger of not having any deadline fun at this rate, mind. Wee Phillie will be gutted.

I think my main question is whether Fabrizio Romano ever sleeps?

The signings in that position have intrigued me. Yes we needed cover with Cirkin and all others who can cover there injured so Reinildo made sense but then signing Masuaku was the one that threw me. Is Cirkin further away from being fully fit than we thought? Bringing another LB in then allows him to get up to speed with no pressure (which makes sense) but what happens when he's fit? Is it between him, Masuaku or Reinildo who plays? Is there no agreement on a new contract with Cirkin and this is in preparation for when he leaves? I noticed Masuaku can play left midfield - is he cover forthere when required? All this thinking is doing my head in - I'll just leave it to RLB and see what happens

This could be pure coincidence but I think it's interesting.

Private jet went from Bologna to Farnborough yesterday and is today flying up to Newcastle.

It's impossible to work out what plans RLB has until the end of the window.

We could see almost a team full of players leave, sold or on loan, so we've currently no idea if we're being honest.

There's quite a few players on that thin line between stay or go ...

... one thing's sure, we're bringing in players who can comfortably play in two or more positions.

Whether that's by detailed design or good fortune is difficult to work out.
