Next week is vital for me in this transfer window. We need to get 2 or 3 signed this week so we're going into the first game with a solid first 11 who have had time to gel.

Far too many U21's getting game time in pre-season for me, which is due to our lack of depth.

Lots of work to do. We started the window brightly, but it's been stagnant for a couple of weeks now.

100% agree. We need the defence sorted and need some high calibre players in there like we’ve signed elsewhere this summer. We will ship a lot of goals if we don’t get it addressed

Still not seeing that Neil has had a poorer game than Sadiki. Definitely seems like some agenda driven assessments are going on here.

Sadiki has had a poor game, this is the worst game I've seen Dan Neil have.

I’m not saying Neil was any good. No one has been. But there’s a lot of people posting as though it’s only Neil that has been bad.

I'm not reading it like that at all, but he's probably been the worst.

Can we let everyone have their own opinions please. Not all of us think Dan Neil is what we need and think it was clear we were a lot slower in midfield compared to the last 3 games now he’s back in the midfield. I think he’s a good player and simply doesn’t suit our style

but that said, whole team were miles off. Really need to make sure we get that defence and goalkeeper position reinforced fast for me. That would be the priority

Also, what’s everyone’s opinion on that ST position? Think Mayenda is going to handle prem defenders?

Completely but respectfully disagree. Sadiki for me if we have to pick one, nothing went right for the lad.

I’m relaxed though, I put very little stock in preseason, so many factors that make it very hard to read anything into it.

Only scored 1 goal in 3 pre season games too. Need some firepower up top I reckon

Yeah mine too. It's pre season so doubt there will be much stats. But I reckon he will have done well to have 75% pass accuracy and probably lost 80% of his duels.

I know Sadiki made a couple of mistakes but the brief period when Sadiki ELF and diarra was the midfield we were much much much faster

Unlikely but i would love us to have a keeper, at least 1 cb and striker in next week

after tuesday it only leaves us with 3 friendlies and 2 are in consecutive days

need a bit time for them to gel

We have a very good first choice midfield. Once any one of those 3 gets injured, we’re thin.

I reckon Rigg can adapt to play at that pace, but he’s still a kid. I’m not sure Neil’s playing style is going to fit that pattern (and I say that as someone who has a lot of time for the lad). Really hope we get Xhaka over the line soon.

There’s a hell of a lot of heavy lifting being done by one slick move in that short period, mind. Plus it was a move that Sadiki was completely absent from - and actually hinged on elf doing something that he’s completely failed to do for Neil in dropping deep. Other than that moment it was more of the same.
