Saudi's will pay them what they want if Super League or rest of pyramid won't. Footballers have become accustomed to obscene wages now.
Very happy we actually got Lauriente. I wanted him a lot and then forgot about him once we signed Adingra. We were desperate for wingers with our playstyle and the PL demands. We now have pace, power, dribbling and skill in abundance
I think it's good, in a way. The club wants a better keeper than Patterson, identified two high quality potential replacements which they couldn't get. But rather than working down a list of keepers who might not be available/out of reach and settling for a slight upgrade, their prepared to work with him to improve unless a really good fit appears. If it takes a bit of time, so be it. Sensible, if you ask me.
Or maybe the club are aware of how all the speculation may affect his confidence so are giving him some 'air time', keep him in the loop etc until they find his replacement. I like Patto I really do, but I think he will be found out big time in the premier league.
I would rather we did tbh, Sadiki shouldnt ever have to play there for us and it means hedging our bets not only on huggins staying fit but also stepping up to premier league level and physicality. Of course someone like diakite solves that problem as you can play him centre back and cover right back if needed.
I’m expecting two defenders in, both centre halves primarily, but at least one can cover full back if needed.
Cracking read that. I didnt realise he has worked with Eric Steele. I have had the pleasure of seeing Steele work a lot and he is something to behold. The way he engages players is brilliant.
What I find exciting is how much coaches can improve players. Cutler might well see Patto as a lad to shine. Not aiming this at you, but far too easy for fans to say just sign this player or that player and take a short term view. Coaches, thankfully, divorce themselves from that and really pride themselves on making players better. I trust Cutler to get the best out of Patto and not a single poster on here knows what the best looks like.
If patto can play like he did in the playoff final he can def make the step up You are spot on about coaches, they make such a huge difference and can really help kick players on The signings have been so exciting, and even the linked players have been exciting but the 3 1st team coaches that have come in have me buzzing
Every chance Cutler spends a couple of weeks with Patto and thinks he has what it takes. Cutler would know better than any of us. So many cases of keepers exploding in development terms as they hit their mid 20s. Lets see.
