Plenty of experience too, a good age at 27. Champions and Europa league games played in the past

Antwerp wants to cash heavily on Senne Lammens (23) and the goalkeeper himself is also a step higher. The only question is: where can he go? Galatasaray pushes, but he is also on the English goalkeeper carousel. Leeds, Sunderland, Man United...: will he get the floche soon?

Marc Overmars was clear during his interview in Waidring: “The transfer of Senne Lammens has to be done, because we have already brought his replacement. We'd rather not see a Butez-Lammens scenario anymore.” As a reminder: Lammens had to wait a year longer than expected to become Antwerp's first goalkeeper, because Butez was not sold. That should not happen to the Japanese Taishi Brandon Nozawa (22) now.
In an ideal world, in which there was no financial concern, Antwerp would just keep Lammens. He has just had a great debut season as a titular and still has a lot of room for growth. But to make the books beat, the Great Old already wants/has to cash in on him. Fortunately, he himself is also happy to take a step higher.
“Senne is our most coveted player,” Overmars said. “There are a lot of clubs ready to take action.” That is certainly the case. Galatasaray is one of them. The Turkish champion came on stage to take pole height from his situation and insists for the Belgian. But purely sportingly, a transition to the Premier League, where he is on many lists, remains more interesting for him.
    Sadiki and Talbi
So Lammens is on the English goalkeeper carousel, which has started to spin quietly for the past two weeks. Brentford paid about 15 million euros to get Caoimhín Kelleher (26) away from Liverpool, while Crystal Palace picked up the transfer-free Walter Benitez (32) at PSV. Those are two midfielders who already have their number one bite for next season and which we can delete for Lammens. The same goes for top club Arsenal, who bought Kepa (30) away from Chelsea, as a double for David Raya (29).

Fortunately for Lammens, there are still many options left. Take Sunderland now. The PhD candidate, who has already spent about 115 million, has already picked up two talents in Belgium with Noah Sadiki and Chemsdine Talbi and also has the Antwerp goalkeeper on the radar. After all, the board is not convinced that Anthony Patterson (25) is the ideal man in the fight for preservation. Ditto at Leeds, where Illan Meslier (25) ended up on the bench at the end of last season and they now also want a new final piece.
There are also clubs that think of Lammens, because their goalkeeper can still leave. This applies, for example, to Aston Villa, where Emiliano Martinez (32) flirts with a transfer. Last year he was voted best goalkeeper in the world and he now wants to cash in on that status – Manchester United, among others, is interested. Villa already got Marco Bizot (34, ex-Genk), but that's a second choice. At Burnley, they take into account an exit from James Trafford (22), who is in the picture at Newcastle. But if Newcastle can't catch him, Lammens can also become an option there, and so on.
    Red Devils
Even at Man United, where André Onana (29) is on the seesaw, they have already looked at Lammens in detail. Just to say: there is no shortage of slopes. Only for the time being – also for himself – it is to watch coffee grounds and speculate who will eventually go through. Don't forget: at Antwerp they hope for the jackpot, they dream of 20 million. English clubs can put that amount, but will they just do that? Not obvious. They will have to be fully convinced of Lammens as a permanent first goalkeeper.

For Lammens, who also competes with, say, Aaron Ramsdale (27, Southampton) and John Victor (29, Botafogo), there is no choice but to wait. And hope that in the meantime he can continue to show himself as long as he is on the Bosuil. After all, to keep his career going and remain a Red Devil, the most important thing is still that he plays. He will also take that into account if he has to make a choice later.

yeh the journo seems legit but I’m not convinced he’s actually saying we’re in for him. I think he’s just listing all the possible destinations.

On Lucumi and his release clause, I wonder if it’s a translation issue and he’s actually saying we will look to trigger it before 15th July (ie tomorrow) rather than “until”.

if we don’t value him at his release clause we could always offer our price whenever. It wouldn’t make sense to wait until it’s expired before offering. That’s why I think it might be a translation issue.
