Well, last game played and the summer now upon us and cricket and sunshine will be the order of the day for the next 2 months.

I must admit, cricket wise at the moment firmly in the courts of Somerset and NZ..I really do hope NZ get a victory, now it is not that I am not supporting my country as I am only half English!

the ashes will be different, I really hope we do well and win at least 1 match. I think Pieterson was conned and should have been "up for consideration" I noted the A COOK top scorer in tests, but nowadays the tests are against some weaker teams? so think it is somewhat lesser of an achievement

John you are a diamond but I've got to say I want England to beat NZ, I'm half Cornish and the rest is English, at least that's my excuse...<laugh>

I think England at the moment are needing a revamp like City had a year or so ago, Somerset, well they need to get their act together, to many last ball/ over defeats!

the Aussies must be drooling, 8 PLAYERS HIT A SIX and 9 in all!

so a bit of fun how many 1 day games will either side win? ENG v NZ

HOW MANY RUNS WILL EACH SIDE SCORE ( no game = ave of all played games count ) 6 innings
TEAM BATTING SECOND GETS REMAINGING OVERS AVERAGED UP TO 50 OVERS ( England 297 -8 50 ovr, NZ 298 -6 48 ovr so NZ get extra 13 runs NZ 300 all out 46 overs, ENG 301 42 ovrs so Eng get extra 57 runs )

    ENGLAND 2 + runs 1740 NZ 4 +runs 1830

You cant be serious...great batsman but a piss poor team man, a rank bad apple that's not wanted in the dressing room.

    JFG2.
Summer? Only the English could invent a sport that needs warm dry weather, yet England has one of the most unreliable summer weather anywhere in the world.
This start of June and tonight we are in for howling gales!

Well well well..beaten by a declaration and 200 runs.. they have a lot of soul searching to do now before the Aussies...
FANTASTIC players reach records but none are really as good as the ones they beat. Back then less games annually and players reached the same number of games in more years than now.
but our bowlers are average and our batsmen are average...

England 200 overs scored 605 runs for 20 wickets... ( 50 of their runs not off the bat..50 ) at 48 runs per hour

NZ 163 overs and scored 804 for 18 wickets ... ( 30 of their runs not off the bat ) at 72 runs per hour
Aussies are 6/1 to win 4-0 and 2/5 ON to take the ashes
