The rumour mill is apparently rife once more with talk of Reid and Pompey. This does seem to be one that won't go away despite the last one saying he was in Portsmouth for talks when he was poking the ball in the net at Forrest Green pre-season. With our other striker options doing the business regularly it would be less of a problem if this were true this season. I would rather we kept him unless they are offering silly money though and am happy enough with the squad as it is without having cash (Brent allowing it) to spend. Sometimes I wish the transfer window would close early and be done with all of this.
It seems he will go and talk to them. But at what cost will we sell or will it me a Un- disclosed fee?
I have been looking around at alll sorts of sites and I can't really find any confirmation of any of this anywhere apart from on pasoti rumour board. It's all a bit weird to me. Not saying the rumour isn't true as me not believing something hasn't stopped it happening previously. I don't see why Portsmouth would want him to be honest. Some sites have had posts doing a bit of a toot about Tubbs but he has been consistently a top end scorer in this league so can't see why they would want rid of him. Another 20 goal striker seems a tad too much for one team. Guess we will soon know.
The rumour mill still persists about Reid although it seems Pompey might not be the end of the story. Cook has allegedly admitted to liking Reid and would want him but then says he doesn't think it will happen. Reid went off on Tuesday after 20 minutes so not being anywhere near the team today might genuinely be to do with an injury rather than him off having talks elsewhere. Peterborough also mentioned in dispatches but only on pasoti. Only 2 days left to wonder.
You sensible had the advantage of seeing them live yesterday.....I just have to glean my opinion from others thoughts and reports. Pasoti's MOM table gave Boateng 36% of the vote and Carey 35%.....so not much between them........Brunt came third with 13% of the total vote.......so they covered 84% of the votes between them. Tanner,Jervis and Wylde didn't receive one vote between them yesterday.....neither did McCormick but for other reasons of course. Reid was at the match in training gear... so it was reported......I don't think he is going anywhere soon (famous last words) recovering from a knock.....likewise Simpson not fit either........haven't heard anything on the reason for Bittner not being on the bench......would think he wasn't fit.....surely not the time to try young Harvey in goal......this is still a dodgy position if Luke gets injured.....Bittner has stood in before....but hasn't got much big match experience. Should have put these comments in the match thread sorry.
Just noticed that Andy Kellett has moved from Bolton to Wigan for an undisclosed amount.......that's a strange one....how does that benefit his career.
It only benefits him as he does not need to move to far i suppose.. wigan are in decline.. we are on the up!! So what club did he start at this season? was he still at Bolton or on loan? It is a pity as a good player
Not worth doing a thread for this match but final score was a win for the Greens. I was looking at the stats on the beeb just now and it was quite pleasing to see the number of chances Argyle created and the number on target. Hit the target consistently and you are going to score eventually. The crowd size was pathetic but I'm not shocked too much either. Who is going to travel up there for this sort of game. Even plastic plym wouldn't go.....
I knew it had to be a matelot who pointed that out..... To be fair I was just about to comment on the same thing so it is a second pleasing thing. I sort of keep waiting for the wheels to come loose a bit but I think that might just be the Argyle supporter in me and what I've been programmed to expect. I'd like a Wembley day out this season but would rather it wasn't in the league as I would like that to be automatic promotion. But, I'd gladly sacrafice all of the cup competitions now if that was what was needed. I see Portsmouth fielded virtually a youth team against Exeter. I'm beginning to think their manager is a bit of a naughty boy. I wonder if the FA will have a look at that one as well.
Well i suspect Pompey are concentrating on gaining promotion.. I don't think the wheels will come off this time.. i think Adams has got a good squad and he does play the correct system.. Hope fully we keep it going past xmas this time and avoid the play off lottery and straight up.. as champions..
Read somewhere that any club fielding an (obviously) under strength team in the JPT will receive a £5000 fine - hardly worth bothering about.
Worth bothering about or not I hope it isn't just another empty threat. You could understand it if it was a Chelsea youth team playing one of our league or something but doing it for league advantage only against a team in your league is taking the proverbial and is disrespectful to the people putting up the money. There is little or no opportunity to earn extra cash in these leagues as it is so to put off would be benefactors is just wrong for every other club.
Not bothered too much Joe.....good to see them come from behind........I added 500 to my first crowd prediction because I thought it was undersize......how wrong can you be.............with ticket prices less than league games they must of been out of pocket from that pathetic turn out......the greens where still a quarter of the crowd.
Yep, agree on the crowd it was a bit bad.. why do they bother with these such games? Surely it cost's more to play the game? understand there is the wembley chance but at what cost? overall a good result.. but the further you go the more games for us. Do we want that and get injuries if we are banking on promotion? Will you be going to the Dagenham Game? as i could be in London that weekend and pop along.
Nov 28th a Saturday.....quite possible......one of the two games I normally try and make.....unless they are mid-week.
