SWEP report that Swans' "are optimistic that they can pull off a sensational double move for Romelu Lukaku, and Iago Aspas this summer". Now the Aspas situation has been well chronicled and I understand that he is due to sign on a permanent basis once his contract with Real Betis expires. But what are the real chances of a loan deal coming to fruition for Lukaku? Now I may have missed any previous discussion/speculation about him,if so,please forgive the repetition. Does anyone think Lukaku will be wearing a Swansea City shirt next season?
Well there's too much been put about in the media for me not to think there's something in it Vetch, and it's logical if you think about it. Lukaku should be playing in Europe and he won't get that with the Baggies. Chelsea won't want to farm him out to a top 6 side so we could be the real deal. My only concern is that I can't see Chelsea agreeing to something at this stage knowing that a new manager is coming in during the Summer. What if Mourinho (and I suspect it may well be him) says he wants Lukaku in the starting 11? You never know. Thing is they do have Torres and Ba - and if you look at their goal tallies this season both have done pretty well. So the answer for me is that it's a strong possibility but anything could happen. How's that for a fudge.
You are right Vetch, the Lukaku rumour was discussed a few weeks back so it's interesting to see that the story is still doing the rounds. A front three of him, aspas and michu would give us awesome fire power if they were to gel, with the possibility of canas and leon behind them.
Aspas is a Celta Vigo player and I'm pretty sure his contract dosn't expire this summer... You are probably thinking about Canas...?
Well if they are going for Lukaku and aspas somebody is going to be on the bench !! we only play one striker don't we ? Lukaku is a possibility, but like above I think it would depend on the new manager. Laudrup IMO will not want to be waiting to the last minute to sign a striker so the timing may be all wrong. There has been a bit in the press about this move so it could be that we have got in early and both Chelsea and possibly mourinho have agreed it would be wise to loan him out to us for a season.
In my humble opinion, i think Lukaku fits the mold of a moourinho player, (similar to drogba), but he wasnt known for starting youngsters if i remember rightly. I have no doubt if Mourinho does come in he will sign a big name striker before the start of the season and let lukaku learn his skills in somebody elses first team. hopefully ours.
http://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/1e9aop/romelu_lukaku_looking_set_for_another_loan_this/ There was a discussion about this on the popular reddit board /r/soccer. Some good explanations of why we might be likely candidates.
Can't see us getting him at all, not with a new Manager coming in, and there's no flies on Jose, but the papers will talk!........
I misread that website address at first, I thought it said redtit.com I was wondering what the bloobs would be able to contribute to the discussion (or any discussion, for that matter!)
Swansea are back in Spain this season for their summer transfers. They will be signing Giovanni dos Santos, Jonathan de Guzman on a permanent deal, Jose Canas, Alvaro Vadillo and Geromel who is currently on loan at Mallorca. They will also sign Romelu Lukaku and Nathaniel Chalobah on loan, whilst bagging Sporting Lisbon defender Eric Dier. Very relilable source! Imagine this is true!
Dier playing behind Dyer. Doesn't sound too chabolah to me. Premier league and we're having a lukaku.
I do rate Lukaku and he would be a fantastic signing even if it is on a season long lone. Until Chelsea sort out a manager then this one will have to wait. I do feel we need to quality forwards with strains next season will bring, their will be enough games for them to play in. We have been very heavily linked with Aspas for some time now so I do see some milage in this. Just going to have and see. I will say one thing this is probably the most exiting transfer window for the Swans.
It certainly is. Good times! I really hope we get both Aspas and Lukaku. We will need 2 top strikers to cope with all the games we will have to play, keep one fresh at all times. really looking forward to next season, here's hoping we see a few bods out there against Fulham playing for their contracts/futures and putting in a tidy shift.
Alvaro Vadillo is a winger 5'11 who was looked at by Man utd and was the youngest ever player in La liga for real betis Geromel is a centre half from brazil who was highly thought of in Portugal, moved to Germany to play for fc koln and was very impressive ,attracting the intrest of real Madrid, currently on loan at real Mallorca. Nathaniel chalobah is a Chelsea youth product currently on loan at Watford, he can either play in midfield or defence. The first two I mentioned look very decent and typical swans type players , the youngster Im not so sure about,i was thinking we need the finished article myself, but in Laudrup we trust
I don't care what their names are - I just want a beast in midfield Lukaku would be a great signing -holds the ball up well and knows where the net is although I reckon he needs three chances per goal unlike a great finisher who would be more likely to be one in two. The only down side would be that he couldnt play against Chelsea - so for two games you cannot field a full side. Doesn't sound a lot - but it is important.
