One does not need to have any inside knowledge in order to realize that this report is nonsense. Burnley is not going to spend so much on a player, who scored two goals in the Championship last season, and Gino Pozzo will almost certainly wait until Doumbia reaches a much higher ceiling before he sells the player. Watford would also be left very short of strikers: Vivaldo Semedo is still waiting for his visa and Luca Kjerrumgaard has not yet signed nor received a work permit.
Exactly . Also the fee suggested is more than they wanted to buy Georgi allegedly for which snows it must be rubbish !
One of the forgotten men leaving ? https://insidefutbol.com/2025/07/15/club-very-advanced-in-bid-to-sign-watford-star/688597/
Well Sky seem to be tracking one of our potential new signings. https://x.com/Plettigoal/status/1945243837384761665
Well it seems there was a bid which we rejected. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25317127.watford-reject-10m-burnley-mamadou-doumbia/ I guess they are hoping he will become worth more but certainly would have been a very good offer to take . Presume the 10 million was made up of all sorts of clauses and instalments ?
Actually a very good offer. Interesting that reviews of our strikers say he is the one with most promise. But if we sell him are we shooting ourself in the (strikers) foot.... and if he proves himself this season then his value will surely rise.
Yes people complain about Sissoko but seem happy to want someone older . I know Young keeps fit well but we can get more long term options if Ngakia or Andrews aren’t seen as good enough ?
Are we going to do a big announcement of two or three new signings at once? Two appear to be in the country and had their medicals.
Burnley sources are denying that a bid was made for Doumbia, but a striker - who is ready to play now in the Premier League - is their immediate priority. https://www.burnleyexpress.net/spor...-doumbia-amid-ps10m-rejected-bid-talk-5228103
https://the72.co.uk/2025/07/17/west-brom-coventry-city-watford-target-italian-seydou-fini/ Writing on X, reputable reporter Ben Jacobs has said that all of West Brom, Coventry City and Watford hold an interest in Genoa’s young forward Seydou Fini. The 19-year-old, who primarily plays as a winger but can also be deployed centrally – is said to be available for between £3m and £5m this summer. Fini is back in Italy off the back of a season on loan in The Netherlands with Excelsior. It is not said whether he would be receptive to a move to England with any of WBA, Watford to Coventry City at this moment in time. Who is Seydou Fini? Born in Bonkoudou, Ivory Coast, Fini has spent his entire career in Italy with the Genoa setup. Since making his way through their ranks, the rumoured West Brom, Watford and Coventry City target has played five times for the first-team, though most of his senior experience has been found out on loan. He had a short stint in Belgium with Standard Liege over the second half of the 2023/24 season before linking up with Excelsior in the Dutch second tier for the previous campaign. He notched four goals and five assists in 38 outings. Fini has starred at youth level for Genoa and caught the eye in the Italian ranks too, so it seems a bright career in the game lays ahead.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclusive-ashley-young-twist-emerges-amid-watford-fc-return-talk/ Young not coming?
rubbish article....says he wont be coming, and the reason he isnt is that there has been a twist!!!! ...then proceeds to not say anything about what that twist is and why it has prevented this happening (assuming it was happening) maybe the twist is Young's ankle!!
