No!..... I'm not talking about matters on the pitch this time - I'm talking about on here.

For the past half dozen years or so, we've had to put up with taunts about Ridsdale, the Inland Revenue, going out of business, or taking administration with points deductions, the inevitable relegations and all round gloating from the usual suspects.

We have come through all that crap together and have become a close knit club with fantastic supporters (we always were to be fair), committed and enthusiastic owners, super manager with back up staff, and the excellent squad of players now at his disposal.

The club is throwing off the shackles of it's past chequered history regarding the actions of a minority of it's fans and developing a family oriented match day experience without destroying the usual fervent support from those who want the more traditional football experience.

To all those who still harbour hopes of our demise and question the progress this club has made, I would ask this - where are you now?

Where are we? Top of the bloody Championship and enjoying it.

Even in freefall we didn't die. Welcome back Mr. Bond, looking stronger than ever. <laugh>

Cracker yesterday Spark. Following on from your sunstroke thread, I think I might have suffered from it yesterday in the Nin and was one of the majority doing the Ninian Sun Salute after forgetting my cap. :bandit:

All credit to our defence for nullifying the best goalscorer in this division by far.

    Enjoy the moment fella. <ok>

Couldn't be more pleased with that performance and was able to watch it all without squinting.

Get a seat in the grandstand next year..............<laugh><ok>

It's been a long and sometimes painful journey with a few bright spots along the way. I don't think the journey is yet complete, but the sun is shining and the (blue) birds are singing, so lets enjoy the moment.

There was an interesting WoL 'interview' with Lim http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footba...on-push-cash-for-cardiff-city-91466-32100049/

It suggests there is more to come with Tan living up to his promises. My inference was that Tan is still pushing to sort the Langston issue which will be another milestone on the journey.

As you say Sparkey, the external doubters are conspicuous by their absence.

It wasnt just the defence who stopped Austin. The midfield gave Burnley little time on the ball. Don Cowie was superb yesterday.

Great performances all over the pitch.

Pity weve lost Maynard because at the moment I think we are just a centre forward away from winning this league.

Surely Mason keeps his place from now on.

Don't want to start the "Helguson debate" again on this thread, but I'll repeat something I said on a previous thread.

If Malky thought we needed Maynard when he bought him (from memory he was the last player he brought in), nothing has changed since his injury to suggest a replacement isn't essential.

However, agreed Mason is a gem. A different sort of player to Maynard, but one that can have a huge influence on our season.

Was it a need or a want? Would Maynard give us 1%, 5%, 10% more than we already have. It can be fine margins getting out of this league and he might be the difference, who knows.

I don't NEED another salmon fly rod, but it doesn't stop me reading the catalogues / browsing on line in the chance that a better model comes available at the right time (birthday / Christmas time) at the right price. Would I catch more salmon than using what I have? Not sure. I may cast a yard further or get tired 15 minutes later so I may get one more evrey season or so.

To be fair to MM, he doesn't seem to waste money. He knows what he wants (needs?) and he knows what he is willing to pay.

If Maynard hadn't come available at the right time and price, would we be in this position we're in now. I think so, given Maynard only played 3 games and didn't score.

I still believe that come January, we'll be more in need of a couple full backs than another striker.

Mason or Bellamy off HH or Rudy are our options. Let's see where they get us with KimBo, Noone, Smith, Frei, Whitts providing the ammo!

Keeping the ball out of our goal will be equally important.

If i knew what these big words meant i would agree <laugh>.

The only taunts and wind ups are based now on the REBRAND, but that is only between our own fans !!!

Have to say something is going right with the Red Shirts, Still a strange moment when we walk out in Red especially when the away team plays in Blue.

Missed yesterday and bloody devastated, had us down to score 4 as Oldsparkey did on the prediction league (let in a couple as well).

All in all by the reports we battered Burnley and are started to gel, roll on Bolton <ok>

ronny and hampshire - I was 55 last month, packed in the day to day business slog after seeing the light this past devastating 4 years, drew some of my private pensions early, and said fck 'em all.

All I need now is for my family and I to stay healthy and for City to go up. <ok>

    Cheers John. <ok>

Surprised we haven't had any visitors on the thread yet - perhaps they've got nothing to say.

Before you start :emoticon-0105-wink: - not necessarily talking about our neighbours. There were a swarm of Weeds, Wurzels and others who couldn't get enough of the bad news.

You don't see them for dust these days.
