Ok I'm not at the game and haven't watched any of it so can't make too a strong a comment, but Jol really is rather conservative with substitutes. 3-0 down after 75 mins and he's swapped right backs and no more. Not calling for his head by any means but his excessive conservatism and caution is becoming quite a concern for me, as this seems to be happening quite often.

Pathetic, subs should have come on half time. It was amazing the space utd had in the first half. Both Riiise and Baird suffered tonight!

Jol needs to do something about it in January.

Can't see us how we are going to recover from this. Reminds me the 5-1 defeat against Tottenham a few years ago!

Couldn't agree more about the subs Madness. Jol should have recognised things were not working as early as 30 mins in and done something about it tonight. Don't know what the Kelly for Baird thing was about but to bring on Bobby 5 minutes from the end was ridiculous. They played with 3 at the back all night and were never threatened. He should have been on in the first half.

That first half was like a warm up match for Utd. We were toothless and tactless. I'm hard pressed to remember one telling tackle (except those made by Dembele covering in the left back spot for the hapless Riise). We were never in there half for the first 45 mins apart from a couple of brief flurries and the odd hopeless long ball to Johnson. We sat back and let them play the ball around yet still managed to leave huge spaces between the midfield and the forward and between the midfield and the back four. We never put them under pressure. Too much ball watching. The second goal was just plain embarassing.

We started the second half the way we should have started from the outset but too little too late.

I've said it before but yet again I don't understand Jol's tactics. He sends out the same team as against Bolton but with a different game plan and it didn't work. As this sort of hasn't many times this season (Stoke/Swansea). More so he seems oblivious to the shape of things during games and has no plan B. The substutions tonight, for instance, were an irrelevance,

I was at the game tonight and the team performance, coupled with the managers tactics was an absolute disgrace.we got carried away with the performance against Bolton,
who at the moment must be at their lowest ebb,I personally agreed with the many Ipswitch fans who said that Stocky does not command his area,so true to night but saying that there were at least 5 players out there who quite frankly, could not command a regular spot in a championship side.

I don't understand what was going on with BZ, was he only half-fit? He should have been on after 30m. I agree about Kelly, or would have brought on Duff for Ruiz, which might have improved the shape.

once again i would like to point out there was bugger all in the way of subs. I think Jol seem to feel that bringing on a sub will only loose us our rythemn. For some reason, he dont like them!

The big question mark is about his timing when he does make substitutions. Virtually all of them have been in the last 5-15 minutes. Any co-incidence that we have let in so many goals also in those last minutes?
