It was funny on the BBC live feed yesterday, all comments that started from "From a neutral point of view.." followed by "that dive in front of Moyes was a disgrace" When it comes to Suarez, there is NO 'neutral' opinion.
60% - Luis Suarez has scored 60% of Liverpool's PL goals this season. Only Steven Fletcher has a bigger share for his side (100%). Talisman.
80% - Luis Suarez has been involved (scored or assisted) 80% of Liverpool's PL goals this season (excl. own goals). Vital.
See my middle finger= up yours! Where are you with Fringe? The episode Friday was one of the best ones I have seen in a long while. Really good.
I have heard plenty of " I will always be rooting for the other team as long as Suarez is playing" Why I ask? " He is a cheat and a disgrace" Then I mention bale, drogba, Busquets, but it is "different" Barca are like a team version of Suarez, for their constant whinging of the ref and diving, as beautiful as they play that "darkside" seems to get looked over because it is Barca.
This is the worrying part. Suarez has been battered and kicked and abused, and he's not once ever retaliated. How much longer can this last? A persons patience only lasts a certain amount of time. The worrying thing for Liverpool and Suarez in particular is that he could snap. Someone may kick him once too often and he could do something he shouldn't. It would be a shame to see him get a huge ban, as when he's in full flow, he's a joy to watch. He's an incredible talent.
Anyone read Poll in the Mail today? When Luis was karate chopped on his neck against Norwich Poll said he didn't get a pen because refs are punishing him for previous perceived dives (though refs are supposed to take each incident on its merits). Yesterday? Well he shouldn't have been on the pitch because Poll would have booked him for his 'dive' celebration. Why? Er, because its Suarez - the only player this country can feel smug and self-satisfied about how anti-racist and anti-disriminatory they are by being racist and discriminatory against.
Suarez booked for his celebration? For what exactly, I guess the idiots at the FA would say the ''stupid foreigner'' was inciting crowd trouble, if the ref put it in his report. That would be outrageous and extremely far fetched. It was banter and sarcasm. It was pretty harmless if you ask me.
I thought Suarezs celebration was class. He completely and utterly stunned Moyes off and made him look like a tit. It was the best comeback ever and Moyes had no response because Luis had him off pure and simple. I loved what Suarez did to Distin. I hope he does that and gets away with it to every defender he comes up against this season who kick him off the park and try and get him booked or sent off or say he's dived when they have just assaulted him in the penalty area. Fight fire wih ****ing fire I say. If their gonna kick Luis, then he has every right to stamp on those ****s right back.
Although I think the celebration was great, it was also the worst dive I have ever seen Apart from his 'lots of other managers' comment, I actually think Moyes responded well. At the time of the dive Moyes walked to the edge of his technical area, he didn't have to do that, he could have retreated out of the way into his dugout but he stood up and accepted it, fair play
^This^ and to be really fair to Moyes he had to tail what he said with something, couldn't just leave it with "I thought it was great" or he looks like he's not being true to his cause, but it was a nothing comment really and if anything sent a subliminal message to other managers that this is what you may well get when you open your gob and it backfires.
