    Then again, we could offload Chammy & Bendtner to them I s'pose.

    Trouble for the Spuds though is that even with £85m what sort of players can they attract ?

    Certainly not the best talent out there, as they will want CL football. Which is part of the reason their best player wants out now.

    It would be a big shock to see that kind of cash offered for Bale. Don't get me wrong he's had a brilliant season but prior to last season he's not exactly been brilliant. I would be surprised if 1 good season, a very good season no doubt, would command a fee that size. I think it they make an offer it would be in the region of 55-65m but I guess you never know with Madrid

    Spanish tax payers won't be happy<laugh>

    It's all very well having lots of money...spending it wisely is whole separate issue.

    Problem is even for the wise spender.. the truly world class talent have already been snapped up...paying over the odds for average players don't make them world beaters (as some teams have proven over and over again)
