...you have done. I'll go first: I checked the oil on my car this morning prior to having to drive 28 miles. Fair enough, its not the longest of distances but it needs doing regularly regardless. It needed oil so I topped it up; I always have a supply knocking about courtesy of having two mechanics in the family. It wasn't until I got fifteen miles down the road that I smelt a strange burning smell but since I was following a grotty old diesel van I naturally assumed it was that. At the twenty-four mile mark, I smelt it again but the van was long gone. I thought I'd just check it when I reached the destination. When I got there and lifted the bonnet I could have decked myself! You guessed it, I'd left the oil cap on top of the engine which was now long gone and the engine was plastered in oil! #gutted #twat Now, at this point I think "thank **** I put the rest of the oil bottle in the boot" (securely, it had not spilt) but it was quickly followed with "****, I'm 28miles from home and without a cap!" I had a old sponge in the car from when I had a crack in a rear light (put it underneath to catch intruding water) and bungee cords. I wrapped the sponge with a cloth to make sure it didn't go in the engine and fastened it down using a bungee cord I got home safely but now need to get a new cap and get the engine steam cleaned!!!
Especially when you ask the person on the other end of the line where your phone is Or ask if they're at home when you'ce just rung their landline!
gone to ****ing work on a Sunday! helps if you work Sundays i suppose, i didn't even know what fecking day it was and my mate blagged me a gooden, never again i tell you, the bar steward, was funny though.
When you get to my age you just want to forget all the stupid things you've done, which have taken you a bawhair away from death or incarceration at HM's request. I often shudder as I drift off to sleep and they invade my draining consciousness.
