We dont seem to be linked with any. Surely we are well short in this dept? Dont get me wrong I like who we have but we dont have much cover.

We have a lot of 2nd type strikers and support forwards but only 1 who can lead the line, that is a worry to me. Cisse wont get a kick if hes up front on his own.

Well we've already seen if the right person comes along from left field, ie a top name signing, Hughes and the board aren't scared to tread on current players toes to increase the quality of the squad.

If they see a deal that's too good to turn down, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a big surprise in store.

If you haven't read mark hughe's article in the Mail, good read, he hints that if a good deal crops up today that we might be tempted.

But I agree I'm surprised we haven't added up top, apart from Johnson. I can see he and Zamora will work well together and Zamora and cisse are yet to really get the chance to develop together. But I do think we need another quality striker to lead with cisse.

So fingers crossed we can pull another coup off in the striker department.

Agree. Bigger worry though is that as of now we are still very weak at CB. 9,5 hours to go though! And with M'bia we are looking well covered now apart from these 2 positions.

So on the basis that M'bia & Kjaer do actually sign which striker are we thinking? Back for the Celtic lad again?

If we're not linked with the player by now, no chance. Have a feeling Mbia could be it. Kjaer ..... don't even know where that rumour came from?

This thread brings up an interesting point which has been mooted elsewhere.

I think with the signings we've made, we will be playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3. The only striker we have that I would be happy to see on his own is Zamora, who plays this role brilliantly. This however, leaves Cisse either on the left wing or on the bench, neither of which I like as he is such a good goalscorer. Hmmm. Quandry. Glad I'm not MH.

I think the plan is to play 10 midfielders plus Cesar.

Seriously, if there is more to come pray that it includes a CB. We have scoring options all over the pitch.
