Well apparently now we don't need a striker...

    http://www.teamtalk.com/gillingham/7119651/Hess-Striker-search-not-urgent

I fear that Keds will burnout and I am not sure Oli can fill his boots as a loan striker. As for Payne (S) I am not sure he is good enough for L2 (happy to be proved wrong though)

I fear that this is not the best course of action... thoughts?

Now I back Hess with pretty much everything but this is just stupid. First off we say we are putting the Coach search on hold to sign a new striker, since then hess has said it is his top priority, so much so I think I read in the program this weekend that he was glad there was no mid-week game so he could focus on having a striker in by next weekend! Now he say's it's not urgent!

Come on Hess don't be silly I would say only having three fit forwards is need for another, never mind us having only having one good attacker! Steph Payne hasn't scored professionally yet, not a good sign, and Dennis Oli is well Dennis Oli!

Please bring someone in, Darren Byfield is wearing a Gillingham shirt in his twitter pic, coincidence? I think not!

i think its more a we dont need to just sign someone for signing someones sake rather than we're not gonna bother. i'm guessing he just wants to take his time and find the right player at a cost that the club can afford. i would still expect to see a striker in during the next 8 days

Earlier in the summer people were critical of the lack of signings, then suddenly wham they all appeared. Hess/Scally have to locate a target, negotiate a deal, and all without tipping their hand, 3rd place with 10 points from 12, lets give Hess a bit of slack he's done ok. so far.

I'd rather we get the right striker in than just any striker. For me it's more a case that our current form is affording us time to find the right striker. If results had been reversed say 3 defeats and 1 draw would there be a panic buy situation where we just sign someone in the hope that they are right? I'd rather us take our time as in the summer. Also is there a case of signing a striker is overshadowing everything else? When actually it doesn't need to. Let's give Hess the time to get the right player in.
