With only 5 players on the bench (a rumour of 7 again next season with age restrictions for extra two) the choice of replacements is important. who would you have as spare striker? AllHell
Haynes when fit, Sho-Silva if promotion is won with games to spare. Ideally, Hayes will be recalled and we have him back the the match day squad.
When we signed him you could see that CP saw him as a striker/winger. Not sure why, we already have a right midfielder who can't cross
Right midfield options 1) a player who can cross, can't take on his left back, will not tackle, can score; 2) a player who can't cross, can't take on his left back, will tackle, falls over, can score; 3) a player who we are not sure if he can cross or not, will take on his left back, doesn't look like he tackles, gets injured easily, has a reputation of missing chances; Where are you Little Lloyd Sam? ........ Oh....... Notts County
I still pine for Campbell-Ryce, who is at orient Did you see CP's comments re Green and being somewhat overawed by being here?
I think having two wingers who will not take on their respective backs (on the outside) makes us rather predictable, especially at home
I think green needs more freedom myself. But CP seems to like his wide players to play quite flat and to share attacking and defensive duties.
Just posted what follows on the match thread but its relevant here too. I'm assuming that Haynes is injured and that Waggy will be in the team on Suturday, therefore I voted for Sh-Silva. My logic being........... I've not seen Sho-Silva and I'd generally be very wary of throwing in a novice at such a crucial stage. But Clarke is just so awful that I'd just as soon throw the lad in to see what he can do. having Clarke on the bench is like playing with 4 subs anyway. If ever we needed proof of that it was last Saturday. Is CP beginning to realise that he's a donkey I wonder? My new chant: "Its been 28 days, bring back Paul Hayes". Not very imaginative I know, but at least it rhymes.
Twitter says that Clarke has gone to Crawley, does this mean CP realises he made a mistake in Clarke & will bring back Hayes, need him for the run in. Will give it to Chris, if this is the case, admitting he made a mistake like that takes a big man.
I've seen various reports on this, it also states clearly that there is NO recall clause. Looks like he's considering bringing back Hayes, which is what we've all been calling for. Well done Chris Powell, if it's true of course.
This has cheered me up no end. Fantastic news. I hope CP was instrumental in pushing it. If he wasn't then we have ourselves one lucky manager!!! All we need now is Hayes back and it's happy days.
'At 6ft 2in he carries a real physical presence and has lightning pace.' Please someone tell me he's taking the piss
