    Another defender exits on loan....

PORT Vale will today unveil the loan signing of highly-rated Newcastle United defender Remie Streete.

The 19 year old centre half has trained with the Valiants this morning and is understood to be joining an an initial month's loan.

Vale are keen to strengthen their defence having failed to keep a clean sheet so far this season. Streete is likely to go straight into the squad for Saturday's home game with Yeovil.

Vale have been keeping tabs on the player for a number of weeks and both chairman Norman Smurthwaite and interim manager Rob Page have watched him playing for Newcastle's under-21s.

Good- lets see what he can do in the 3rd tier. About time he got some first team games, he obviously isn't getting game time here.

One departure I have no problem with, long been overdue to see what he is actually capable of. He has been the next big thing ever since winning the Jack Hixon award. We've seen nothing of him. Not that means he is a write as 19 is young especially for a centre back. its just time to see him in competitive action.

I thought he was a couple of years older than that and was expecting him to be shipped out for good sooner rather than later. Let's hope he comes good and will spend the next 10 years alongside Lascelles.

Good youngster in the making. Experience will do him good.

Will hopefully do him the world of good.

Just hope he actually gets some games. Nothing worse than seeing our lads loaned out to lower leagues only to see them keep the bench warm, put the nets up and wash the kit.

Unused sub today - hopefully it's only because he has only been there a couple of days!

Unused again this week. What is the point of loaning players to lower league teams if they don't play them. He may well have stayed with us and at least played in reserve games.

This is why I think B teams would be a good idea. Our young players don't get enough competitive game time, even on loan.
