Harry Redknapp tells QPR: Stop conceding late goals if you want to stay in the Premier League please log in to view this image Costly: Fabregas' late goal was enough to defeat QPR SIMON JOHNSON please log in to view this image Published: 21 April 2015 Updated: 11:09, 21 April 2015 Harry Redknapp has told former club QPR they must stop conceding late goals if they are to survive the drop. They still sit two points off 17th place but dropped five crucial points late on in their last two games alone. They allowed Aston Villa to rescue a 3-3 draw, while Chelsea earned an 1-0 win in the 89th minute. Redknapp insisted that has to be put right in their final five matches. He told Sky Sports: “I watched the Chelsea game, they worked their socks off, but it was the story of the season — conceding last minute goals. “When I was there it was the same. They have just conceded too many goals. They deserved a point out of the Chelsea game for sure and it was criminal that they got nothing.” Caretaker boss Chris Ramsey hopes to get the job full-time at the end of the season, but admits that he hopes his future is not decided by a mere twist of fortune. please log in to view this image MORE ON QPR: Clint Hill wants a new QPR deal even if they go down QPR vow to ban fans who threw missiles at Chelsea players Bobby Zamora insists QPR can survive after making Chelsea battle hard “What I don’t really want is for my destiny to be based on losing on the last day, or someone missing a sitter, or a 30-yarder that has clipped the bar and gone in or gone over," he said. “Either you’re the right person for the job in the long term or you’re not. “If I am the man for the long term then let’s start putting things into place now so people know, the players and the staff, which way we’re going so that we’re singing off the same hymn sheet. “It is important that we still maintain focus on the short-term plan, which is to keep the club in the Premier League. “But if we are looking long term then, while still focusing on the short term, we have to start building now for what is going to happen next season.”
What's his next amazing tip? If you score more goals than the other team you are likely to get a decent result? FFS Arry you are looking like a clown!
And today's winner of the No Sh1t Sherlock award goes to............drum roll..........Harold Redknapp.....
Whether the criterion is beyond reasonable doubt or on the balance of probabilities you would have to say that conceding early goals is pretty damaging too
I keep meaning to look to see whether we are worse than other teams at this but Hull away, Swans and Chelsea at home, just from recent history. Those three alone would have seen us out of the drop zone today!
We've only managed to keep 5 or 6 clean sheets all season, that's out of 35 games if you include our cup runs (sic) You can't row very far if you're spending most of your time bailing out the leaks
Add to that Liverpool at Home, Saints at Home, Villa Away......that's 8 points lost to late goals, we'd almost be safe....... No wonder we're depressed.......
