We truly are an awful side. Remind me again why I renewed by £399 season ticket? Depressing stuff.

Come on guys we are being very harsh - Newcastle are a big club and have spent millions. Given that we were two down after 17 minutes, this is a very good performance - it could have been really alot more. Don't forget we had two corners, so we were obviously trying to take the game to Newcastle. If they had not scored 3, it would have been a draw!

I think 40% possession and 2 shotd on traget are becoming uncomfortable norms for the lowest scores in the league! Walters is done for this season, his work egthic and stamina created his chances not pure skill, but for me his tiredness is no showing is shortcomings as an out and out striker! TP still fuks about with the line up, has no consistency in his subs and is probably forcing it with players like Walters!

If there was ever a time to step down gracefully, the season would be it! I know we have a few games to go but I see no progress in our club whatsoever. We have spent over 40 million on strikers alone yet we cant hit a barn door, let alone get our strikers in double figures for the prem! Frightening!

I know I come across as a TP hater, but we really do look like we have no direction!

    Smithers absolutely spot on..
It s starting to wind me up now Walters up front all the time .. his workrate etc.. fabulous but ffs the quality is there for all to see non existent .. How many games to goals ? im not sure the count ... he takes the pens as well ! i bet its a shoocking return ..
We know TP loves him but we are so desperate for pace and quality up top its now sticking out like the sore thumb it is ...
Another sitter missed today when it was 0-0 !!
This is the prem and to climb it you need some class and guile up front not just a headless chicken ..
    Rant over lol

    POTT'S HERE LADS!
Just got back from SJP staying over night and will be sure to get well and truly bladdered, if only to mask how bad I feel tonight.

    Smither's
Yep, I was there and sat with the Newcastle fans who may I add we're brilliant. Even though my other relitives made it obvious which team I was supporting..

I will TRY and be as postitive as I can but it's so hard after such a "Toothless Performance".
A few pointers before I start.

    1. Newcastle we're just too good ALL over the pitch.
    2. Although I never expected us to get anything, I did expect more PASSION, commitment, heart call it what you will.
    3. When I heard the team news i thought ??

For 10 mins we we're doing well enough after that we we're utterly lost. Totally devoid of ideas, are passing was woeful what's new there?
WHY does T.P. have to play Wilko and Wilson LEFT back and RIGHT back? The ONLY time we went forward with any intent was once we we're THREE goals down WHY?

Walters SHOULD have hit the target and SHOULD have scored in the first few min's. The guy is KNACKERED simple as and WHEN is Jerome going to get a run of games?

We had NOTHING to lose Tony Pulis but sorry today was exactly WHY i REFUSE to go to away games... I used my Geordie Cousin's season ticket and I must say. Great view, atmosphere was brilliant as we're the Geordie fans who surrounded me.. <applause>

We we're having a chat at half time losing 2 zip and one guy said to me sorry mate but...

" I would now just go for it"
    WE didn't do that.
" If you had a different manager with a more POSITIVE outlook you would be top half with that squad"
WE are NOT and NEVER will be.
" I'm sure I heard the brilliant travelling Stokie's singing we're **** and we know we are? might be wrong though could have been the Geordie's just taking the **** but if they we're they would be spot on. It was DIRE and that's as honest as I can be.

YES Newcastle we're good but what hurt most was even I KNEW it could SHOULD have been at least SIX without reply. The ONLY player who comes out with credit is Begovic.. two saves we're fantastic.

    Footnote
Crul had NOTHING and I mean NOTHING to do all game. Sorry but I FEAR the WORST next season and what's worse is, the clubs BELOW us are at least playing FOOTBALL and TRYING. Simple assumtion after seeing today's game our player's are NOT.

Make of that what you will, SORRY to seem so negative but apart from Crouch who I feel sorry for, he got no service whatsoever the lads and T.P.s tactics let us down AGAIN. It's SAD that even Wolves have scored more goals and yet they are doomed. NEXT season so will we. With Pulis in charge it will only get worse if we continue to play so badly away from home.

The final insult was walking out of the ground. A Geordie who had no idea I was a STOKE fan said. " That Tony Pulis is totally lost for ideas"

See you all at the Brit next Saturday. <ok>

Said it all for me when Crouch set up Walter's who simply COULD not MISS the target. HE DID.

Thats because he is not an out and out striker, he played x amount of seasons as a RW for Ipswich and ultimatley he is not Preimer League, I dont mean that in a nasty way because he has done an excellent job based on what TP has required of him - endless running for nothing! It reminds me abit of Cresswell towards the end where he kept forcing him in to the games and the fans eventually turned, not his fault - TP's!

Anyway, a few games to go so all is not lost, but regardless whether we finish on 42 or 50+ we have been the poorest since promotion and the 3 year plan must go down as one of the greatest cons!

No it isn't Smither's but we just lacked any kind of sustained effort, commitment, passion, attacking intent. Deserved nothing got exactly that.
It wasn't a dig a Walter's more at Tony Pulis.. for selecting the lad.
3 year plan Pulis you are having a laugh at our fans expence.
    off for a few pints now Smither's.. K T F

    Newcastle fan in peace

Stoke has always been one of the hardest places to go to and get a result so i was happily suprised when we managed to do so earlier in the season. I was more confident for todays match but expected it to be like Bolton a week ago when we struggled to break down a stubborn team and were lucky to get a win. It wasn't like that to be honest, your team lacked the passion i expected as the minimum from you which is a shame.

The point i wanted to make though is Pulis comments after the game, i honestly just don't understand wehre he's coming from its like he was watching a different game as far as i'm concerned. They were :

Stoke manager Tony Pulis: "We had a lot of chances today. Jon Walters, who I think the world of, could have come out of the game scoring a hat-trick.

"But the difference in both boxes was they hit the target and we never. From being very much in the game we were 2-0 behind after two very poor goals.

"At the start of the second half we thought if we could get that goal it would have been game on. But the third goal was very poor again and that gave them the momentum to go on.

"You've got to give our players credit - they kept going and kept going. I don't think it was that bad a performance."

Am i missing something here? If i was a Stoke fan i'd want him to be saying "we'll do better next week" rather than "yeah that was a good performance".

Seems we were lucky to get 0 (again)!!

I am absolutelu 100% sick to death of what Pulis has done to my/our club.

I said I as not going to post after the end of this season, just one more from me. Need to calm down a bit first.

Just feel so sorry for all of you who spend hard earned money to watch Pulis City

No you are not missing anything and if Pulis said that..

He's more of a ukin idiot than even I thought he was? Honest oppinion from me Haslam..

Newcastle we're FAR too good for us. HAD you scored SIX or SEVEN which you could have it wouldn't change anything I've said above.

WELL done today fella and the fans (Newcaslte fans I sat with) TOP LADS and LADETTES.

NOW go and finish top four on today's showing you can and will do it. <ok>

Another Toon fan here, wasn't at the game (left it too late to get tickets) but speaking to a few lads who were, apparently your fans were top notch today, Pottermouth, you're right, they were singing and doing the conga despite being 3:0 down, so fair play to you! Glad you had a good time if only for the day out and not the football, I haven't checked but I assume you're the lad who was on our board asking if you'd be OK in your shirt?

I'll be honest, I've never been a massive fan of your team or its style, but this changed a little after your performances in Europe and a lot more after hearing how good your fans were today...Good luck for whats left of the season!

I really wouldn't recommend wearing an away teams top in our home fans area. Chances are you'd be fine as most of our fans are really sound and will have good banter with you but there are some nobs (like with all teams really) who would make an issue of it if given a chance.

Not a Newcastle thing, i personally wouldn't risk it anywhere.

I didn't used to be much of a fan of Stoke but happened to watch your 4-0 win against Bolton last year and really liked the free-flowing wing play which you use sometimes and get little credit for. I thought Pennant and Etherington, when firing, were a flashback to the early days of the premiership (in a good way). Though you sometimes play a poor style of football Newcastle have certainly employed hoofball at times this season (though not in the last few weeks) and its harsh that when teams like Chelsea play containing football you guys get name-checked in a negative manner.

Yeh thats what I was trying tom say, TP playing an average player all season at the expence of better players. Not just Walters but in other positions aswell. Have good night Potts, you might aswell have some enjoyment whilst your up there!

Let me just tell you my perspective on you boys. Firstly you do have a great atmosphere and good fans. But your club really is going in the wrong direction imo.

You have to accept that you are never gonna win the league or the champions league. So surely you should at least try and play some good football to entertain your loyal fans? I can udnerstand cheslea playing negative and dull football to get to a cl final. But your not in that position. What is the point of playing not-entertaining footie and ending up 12th when you could play a bit of nice stuff and end up 13th? Makes no sense.

It isnt like you havent invested the money needed to transform into a more exciting team to watch (and not a team based around time wasting set pieces and headers). With the money pullis spent you could of picked up some quality players and could now be playing football more like newcasltes to keep your fans entertained and excited. Instead Pullis seems to have spent millions just buying players who can fit into your rigid set piece orientated tactics. This makes no sense. I could udnerstand using these tactics to stay in the league, but with the money spent you shouldnt be having to play such a way just to stay in lower mid table and in the league.

I really think its going to be a long haul for your club. I would imagine that a relegation battle is just around the corner. And then what?

Arsenal4life, thanks for your post, probably one of the most perceptive ones on here about Pulis.

You are 100% correct my friend and I hope that all Pulis lovers (yes believe it or not there are quite a few) read it.

    All the best to ye
