Thank goodness I'm a season ticket holder..... However this mornings fiasco reminded me of our days in the Championship/ Play off ties and other ' glamour ' games. The ticket phone line was either engaged - or " temporarily out of order " - or when I got close to a human voice, I was 21st in line ( with no improvement in 5 minutes ! ) O K ... So I tried to book online. Somehow MY seat, and that of my son ( also a s/t holder ) were NOT available... despite them being reserved until next weekend ! I managed to get tickets ( not together ) but cannot say I'm terribly impressed ( nor surprised .) slightly off topic - I was 29th ( physically ) in the queue for tickets for our last play off final - but still could not get anywhere near the best seats at Wembley ) I extend my best wishes to those of you who are not season ticket holders. I hope you have better luck than me.
Fortunately the on-line system showed the available tickets before 10am, so I went straight for the additional ticket I required for someone else first, then went back and got mine just before the site crashed. However, I have also tried to pick up (pay for) the reserved seat for a season ticket holder that is linked to my account and cannot do it. No big deal because it is reserved anyway, might sort it out once things calm down. I can order a selected seat against the other season ticket holder but it will not allow me to purchase his seat for him via the drop down box for linked accounts (at work with no access). alwaysright, to get your reserved tickets you had to go into the system differently, I think it was via Cup tickets not Stoke tickets (don't ask me why mate!). I had to do two separate transactions, the first one for the additional seat against my ticket, then I went back and picked up my reserved seat via a different route. In other words you cannot select your own reserved seat, the system picks it up automatically. It is bloody complicated though, if you are trying to link into different accounts. It sounds as though you have selected different seats? Your normal seats will still be in the system until the 20th Dec, once it calms down ring the office and see if they can sort it out for you and refund the other tickets.
Thanks, brb I'm afraid I'd lost what little sanity I had ! I don't think I'll bother - the tickets I did get were only a couple along from my own seat - and I cannot be bothered with the hassle - I'm just grateful to have got tickets ( or at least a confirmation number ! ) I do hope that Stoke used up all their dodgy refereeing decisions against Spurs ! ( should have conceded a couple of penalties and Shawcross red card for his hand ball on the goal line -that went unnoticed )
I got down the ticket office this morning at 9.50 and thought I would cue even though there was a lot of people there, but I had to go at 10.30 as I had an exam at 11.15, so after that exam I got back down there about 2.00 and I got my ticket for the Stoke game and another Bristol Rovers one as a friend of mine is going so he had mine and I got another and it only 45 minutes.
Even as a season ticket holder I did not want to risk the telephone or internet routes. I went to the ground on Monday at 9.45am and left the ticket office with my 5 tickets at 11am, got my normal seats plus two directly behind so apart from cold feet on the day not unhappy. Was better than sitting in the Gordon Road stand for hours for the Villa tickets!!!! I have to agree that it seems a bit of a lottery for non season ticket holders, UTG!!
