STOKE HEADLINE GAME II

After a startlingly exciting first round of submissions and initial voting, we come to the even more startlingly exciting second round of voting. There was a clear winner in the first round but apparently we still have to have a second vote and so

1. You only have one vote.
2. You can vote for yourself.
3. You are voting for the BEST headline.
4. On this occasion you can change your vote.
4. If there is a tie I have the deciding vote against which there is no appeal or whining. My decision is based on all relevant factors that I think are relevant.

With him now out of the running, it's down to three.

Now, knowing what a fair and just gamesmaster (and all-round thoroughly great guy) Trev is, I'm sure he will look favourably on the only tied finalist never to have won previously. Trev is good like that.

 

You do realise he is fattist? His body is a temple (JPF told me and he should know given all the stalking). He finds fat people repulsive. #letssharethistrev

I am now predicting a very good weekend for Philhil and kiwiqpr for some strange reason in one of our other competitions.

Time will tell if it will be a good weekend for Mustyfrog.......

Hmmm, that reminds me, I need to refresh the rules for round 2 of the Fantasy League knock out cup next week.

And I'm not bored I have just spent devising a new avatar for Rolando to get him to post more - as you can see I put loads of effort in...

 

Sorry again about the delay but JPF's Rules can be a difficult read and I have had to look long and hard in order for a decision to be reached. Why one more person couldn't have voted beats me.

Now the interpretation of the Rules are as follows:

1. Firstly, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Everyone hates the player who tries to referee a match; the whining constantly at decisions, the showing of imaginary yellow/red cards, the boxer holding up his hands claiming victory at the end of the bout. Can Less Than's claim of "We're all winners " not have sickened all those participating and viewing in a cheap and tacky effort to influence a known fair and open minded Arbitrator. Could it not also have been anything other than a cheap and unnecessary sleight on the Arbitrator's integrity. Serious consideration was given to a suspension from the next competition for Less Than but was eventually disregarded. ( On the basis that the next competition was actually already in play.) Suffice to say that as Less Than failed the "fit and proper" person test which applies to all participants he is not allowed to win this leg of the competition. He is also warned as to his future conduct.

2. What is to be made of Oh Be One's slanderous "fat" accusation "(and all-round ... guy)". (My mother said I was simply big boned) Standards have to be adhered too and only one conclusion can be drawn from such a comment and that is Oh Be One is an "ist". Hasn't Society moved on in recent years; haven't we as a Society managed to move away from racists, sexists etc and should fatism be treated any differently. Again only one answer which is a resounding No. We can't have an "ist" winning a prestigious competition such as this and so Oh Be One falls short once more.

3. This competition as indicated above has high standards and the"crawler" rule is one of the main principles that this games rules are based upon. Smoggie scores very well under this rule but, and it's a big, butt, sorry but, he seems to have been aware of JPF's stalking but clearly failed to previously report this to the person who should have been informed, me. He also falls foul of point 1 above, "#letssharethistrev". Need I say more.

4. Carver Heed also makes a very valid point in his reference to the "count back" rule. How did Smoggie get into the final? He didn't get any votes in the first round!! Clearly he cannot win.
