A couple of bad series of results have pushed them to the 17th place on the EPL table, just one point away from the red line, so the upcoming duel against Watford has huge importance for them. Team spirits were boosted during the last weekend with 2-0 home win against Huddersfield at home. Fans waited for more than one month to see an end to a winless streak! Paul Lambert’s men have collected the majority of EPL points in front of home crowd this season. Three out of the last five games here have ended their way. What can one say about Watford? Their early season form made them one of the most entertaining sides to watch, yet even then there were questions being asked about the defence. The string of injuries have done nothing to help, and when you look at the available players for the back line there is little to make one believe that things are about to get better. On a brighter note Watford have agreed a loan deal with Barcelona for winger Gerard Deulofeu, and the paperwork was completed in time for him to play if required. please log in to view this image Currently there is no team news, although Javi Gracia was hopeful that a couple of players could return. Looks like WBA have lost interest in Deeney too so hopefully he will remain with us. This game is certainly a "must not lose" and probably a "must win" as there are not a lot of games left that would see us pick up points on current form.
A lot depends on the window I fear. Don´t think anyone else can be registered in time for the Stoke game now mind. A win is a bit too much to ask given our recent form, isn't it? A draw would stop the rot. Two up top please Mr Gracia - at least give us a chance as we can´t defend. 4ish more wins needed and a couple of draws to stay up? One of either at Stoke away in winter would surprise me. Cheers for the thread OFH.
Can Javi/Gerard do it on a cold winters night in Stoke as they say? Be handy if Cleverley was fit.. Will Gracia go 2 up front as he did in the 2nd half Saturday.
A win for the Hornets will ease some of the immediate pressure. I just hope Cleverly is genuinely fit, we've looked an even sorrier mess without him.
