Because Stockdale didn't start very well, it doesn't suddenly mean Amos has got better overnight. Have to say on today's showing Stockdale was far from convincing. The search for a proven goalkeeper should have been done in the summer. It looks to still be an area for concern.

I'll take Stockdale every time. Ye he fumbled a few first half but he exudes confidence. Came to claim plenty second half and did it well. His kicking was a lot better than Amos too.

Didn't look like that from where I was sat.

He looked ****ing awful and I winced every time he went for a ball or had a save to make.

I think he missed every punch he went for.

He didn't do too badly I thought. Couldn't have done much for the goal, kicking was pretty good, only remember once when he released the ball quickly down the centre of the field to nobody. He came for most things in the box (OK he missed a few but didn't cause chaos as a result). Saved a few awkward long range shots. He will show us more of what he is capable of over the coming weeks. None of you will be complaining if he saves a penalty Tuesday night to snatch a 1-0 win.

His last game was in February, it's no wonder he was a bit rusty.

He looked a bit iffy in the first half, but he grew into the game, I think he's going to be a good addition.

He has the experience to command his box unlike the learning Amos.
Has a longer kick than Amos but if we are not careful that will lead to route one football.
Clearances to wing backs out on the wing ,who dont really like to head a ball, are a bit of a waste though.

Burnley were tactically perfect today - double up on Elmo, his crossing ability identified as a threat. Single marker on Rosenior, because he's a right footer playing on the left he always wanted to cut in to play on his right.

you can't just walk into a game after ages on the sidelines at Fulham and expect to play great, he was bound to be a bit cagey early on. But he's come through it unscathed and will defo get better.

Agreed completely. Today just proved - if proof were needed - that the idiotic theory that being young makes a keeper **** is complete balls. Stockdale looked properly shaky on those early long shots and he's made senior England squads. All keepers make minor errors. It's only when they make big mistakes on a consistent basis that there's really a problem.

I think Amos exudes confidence though. He gets criticised for coming and missing doesn't he?

I don't doubt for a second that this Stockdale fella will be a good signing, I just think today showed that we're being too fussy with Amos.

As a Fulham fan I have watched Stockdale many times, and the big criticism is he does not commant his area.
When he arrived we expected great things, but in the minds of many of our fans.he is just not up to it.
A good goalkeeper will excel in whatever team he is in,and when he has played for us in the reserve side, he still looks
uncertain in his position, especially with corners.
I hope he finds his form and is an asset to ypou guys.

He kept his seat on the bench though on saturday.

Looks that way by all accounts. Even Stockdale himself has said as much if all parties are happy in Jan.

I think that BO will keerp his options open for the summer. He wants to play and WBA wont offer him that once Foster is fit. Bo has the power. But rumours at Birmingham last week has Jack Butland signing for the baggies.

In the first half Stockdale was worse than Amos has been (ok i know he is rusty) but its the managers choice. Oh by the way Stockdale is here until Jan 2nd at least by the way. Just saying like.

He looked much better in commanding his area and catching the ball to be fair in the end.

Steve Bruce has said as he is a young lad he needs a rest. Take him out of the firing line but he will be back. Its fair enough and i agree we need 3 keepers for the winter months ahead. Oxley is out until Jan now.

Yes they will. Watch this space.

Rested. Sat in the stands as SB confirmed post game interview.

Burnley out battled us and Koren and Oli were not up for the fight. We should have started with a more agressive midfield. imo. McKenna and Evans should have started.

Now official. Stockdale can leave in Fulham in Jan. Transfer listed now. Deal could already be agreed and contract post dated. Twt.

Lets see how Stockdale performs between now and January but I think he will be a decent acquisition should we sign him (providing he doesnt break the bank)

Fulham manager Martin Jol has also done the same thing with young defender Matthew Briggs who MJ said he had plans for at Fulham.

Briggs has been at Fulham since 2006 and has made 7 first team apps. for the Cottagers. In 2012 he has been out on loan @ Peterborough and Bristol City. I think he played against City a few weeks back from memory. Left back. but can also fill in at left centre half or wing back. 6ft 2" tall. Maybe Steve Bruce will get a BOGOF deal on the pair in Jan ?

Spot on. This needs to happen instead of breiefing the refs all this crap about booking people for taking shirts off and banning the wearing of snoods, not really the big issues them are they?

The time doesn't get added on properly at all. It's all very approximate, and if you cheat during injury time by having a head injury like Maarney decided to have, nothing ever gets added on, they say it does but it doesn't. You see a lot of games on telly where it's a minimum of 4 minutes but they stop it dead on 94:00 as if the ball never went out of play. Sounds petty but it basically means you can just kill injury time whenever you want by having a head injury. That's exactly what Marney did the other day and I'm sure that didn't get added on.
