Anyone on here ever done time? Spent an overnighter once in the clink after one or two too many drinky-poos but have not had the all-inclusive package as yet anyway.

How about anyone else? And if so what was the experience like? Is it really as pleasant as we hear?

I am very proud of the fact I have never seen the inside of a prison. Except for on TV shows and movies of course

Does 11 years for murder count?

That is what I thought, hence I didn't mention it earlier.

I was arrested at what was supposed to be Culture Shock's last gig but turned into the Fulham Greyhound Riot of 1989.

My brother was put on death row in Fox River Prison for a murder he didn't commit. After the lengthy appeals process had been exhausted, I had an elaborate escape plan tattooed on my body and committed an armed robbery so that I'd be sent to the same prison and could break him out.

How did that turn out for you Tarquin, did things go pretty smoothly after you got sent to jail?!

I've worked in a few prisons.

I worked in Glenochil prison and the guards got the prisoners to build me a shed which I managed to smuggle out flatpack.

I worked at Friarton prison, one day, we were having our tea, when a guy fell through the roof and landed on the table next to us <laugh> I think he ended up ok and was working again a few months later.

The whole thing was a clusterfuck. Unexpected difficulties kept arising and I had to enlist the help of other prisoners to get around them. Their price was invariably that they wanted to be in on the escape, so I ended up having to break an extra dozen people out. Also, one of the escapees was revealed to be D.B. Cooper, and he had a map of where he had stashed the loot he got from his plane hijack. This meant that the gang split into competing factions to find it after we finally got out. To add to our problems, the mysterious 'Company' who had originally framed my brother were also on our tail, not to mention the prison authorities and the state guard.

****ing hell, that sounds like a nightmare, but as long as it worked out ok and something daft didn't happen like you getting killed. You should really speak to somebody in the TV industry, I reckon they'd buy the rights to film something like that.

I've spent 2 nights and one afternoon in the cells, but I've never actually gone to jail.

Spent a night in the cells after I got arrested in a night club for suspected possession and supply of Speed.

Spent 12 hours in the holding Cells under the Sherrif Court in Glasgow, an absolute hell hole.

    Luckily I was innocent.

Been in the cells a few times when I was a teen for fighting, smashing windows, shoplifting etc.

Never been near the gaol though.

I have been in an island gaol before, but me and some French guy escaped on bags filled up with coconuts, the **** ended up writing a book about it.
