I had doubts about Cardiff being able to attract the right sort of player but with this signing it shows the right ambition.

I think you have done very well to get Caulker, its a big surprise to many Swans fans and indeed spurs fans, im guessing that the financial package put together is probably around the 40k a week mark plus signing on fee so its a really big financial commitment.

Caulker is still a young player with rough edges ne to be knocked off him, if he does well for you he will be worth double next season, well done on an impressive signing <ok>

You've signed an awesome player here guys. If you pop over to our board you'll notice there's a very angry bunch of guys at the moment talking about letting arguably our best prospect in years go.

If none of you know much about him, Caulker's brilliant in the air and can "play football", he's not a hoof ball type and he's no slouch either. His one main weakness, which is what most CB's his age have is his lack of concentration at times but that'll improve with minutes on the pitch. I've no doubt Caulks will be a regular England international providing he gets the right guidance. You seriously have got yourselves a great player here guys make no mistake and the euphoria and excitement around his signing is more than justified.

All the best for the season <ok>

We're just lucky Laudrup didn't want him or the Swans would have 'turned his head' and we'd have lost out.

You are indeed lucky we wernt in for him ! same with that dog of a centre forward you paid £4m too much for, Eric Larson our scout already checked him out and came to the conclusion he was an ok player but not quite prem level just yet.He would have dragged himself over broken glass to sign for Laudrups Swans in fact both of them would, you know its true boys :)

But as I said, caulker will be a cracking signing for you and you did really well to get him ,its a real coup for Cardiff fair play <ok>

Has to be said most have been complimentary with the odd barbed comment thrown in.
So here's some comments I have extracted from their board with the disclaimer that I have not intended this to be an inflammatory post and everything has to be read in context on their board. Thread is here. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/222097-Cardiff-in-for-Calker-!!

With regard to Caulker pre and post signature:

    Pre-signature
Personally I'd love to see him back here and if Ash were to go then most definitely.
Loan or buy I'd take him like a shot.
a desired player for many teams.
Shocked we have not jumped in and offered a deal, its a great signing for Cardiff.
He won't be interested in Cardiff, but Swansea on the otherhand? We could turn his head.

    Post signature:
    one hell of a gamble
A lot of weight on a young bucks shoulders. With us he had Ash beside him and Vorm behind him.
He wouldn't have taken Ash or Chico's places.
you have to have the right players around you to be a good player. caulker don't have the luxury of that and will just be a high paid normal player.
Just need to make sure he stays away from the gambling dens!
We obviously did not want him or even try for him or he would be here like a shot...Abit to much baggage maybe.
yes i said he got in trouble dragon, spurs must have had enough as he was doing well at one point, you cant do that mun, you let the team down..
To be fair, I understand from a good source Caulker has managed to kick his nose powder problem
Perhaps there are deeper issues with Caulker than a slap on the wrist on Wind Street would indicate.

We're a fickle lot us football fans ;)
