Didn't the Swans try to get him back the year after they loaned him? They seemed to think highly of him.
I'll personally be fcuking gutted if he signs for you. I would swap him for Ashley Williams in a heartbeat. Edit: Probably depend on how bad Vertonghan's injury is though
Talk is of a season long loan deal. Would be excellent business, can't see us buying him as Daniel Levy will value him about 5 times what he's actually worth.
Really? I knew you guys rated him, didn't realise he was that good tbh. Probably another one of us aiming a bit too high but i like the fact MM is trying to get the players he wants first and we can move on to the ones we can get more easily if that doesn't work out.
Think that says it all !!!! Could see a season long loan, He seems to be highly thought of a Spurs unbelievable if he was to sign permanent
Nothing on the Spurs site but they are overdosing on Bale, Saldago and Real Madrid owing them money on Modric. Caulker's a big guy, not dissimilar to Turner at 6 ft 3 ins. Well thought of and already an England international. Played in that game in Sweden when Ibrahmovic scored that spectacular goal. Caulker scored for England then. Saw him against Uruguay in the Olympics at the Millennium Stadium, Suarez targeted him and gave him a bit of a run around. Clearly they liked him at Swansea and he played against us for Bristol City when they went 2 - 0 against us before we beat them 3 - 2. He scored then as well. If he comes I think it would be with the guarantee of first team football which could mean a spell on the bench for Turner.
On Wales Online now http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/cardiff-city-linked-move-tottenham-5384753 That's Fcuked it.
I think Spurs have 4 cb's in Dawson, Vertongen, Caulker and Kaboul. Both Kaboul and VerT have injuries so unless AVB is bringing in someone else it looks a bit of a long shot. However if WoL report it it must be true.
28 appearances last season, don't see this happening unless Spurs are about to sign an established CB or even 2. Didn't Gallas leave to make matters less likely too?
They've got 4 CB's and 2 of them injured, seems odd that they would loan one out, let alone sell one.
Totally agreed, only reason he's being sold (if he is) is because Spurs have bigger names lined up to come in, which could well be the case to be fair.
There is no way we'd let him go. We currently only have 2 fit centre backs and, no offence meant, he deserves better than Cardiff - He is more of a top half player (Swansea, Everton, Newcastle etc) - whether you think you'll finish top half or not, you haven't yet, hence it wouldn't make sense for him to join you.
Shouldn't you be more concerned with selling your entire attack force to Real Madrid than what your 3rd 4th choice CB is up to? Or are you trying to distract yourself? Being serious you've only really told us what we have already said. Why would you sell and we'd face more established competition.
I'm one of the few that isn't so bothered about losing Bale. Everyone sees his goals, which were incredible but for the majority of the season he would dribble down blind alleys, shoot from the byline 40 yards out with 3 people unmarked in the box and losing the ball alot. While his moments of genius are "almost" priceless, if Madrid gave is £85m+ we would be a hell of a lot better as a squad and I don't think we'd miss him as long as we reinvested the money wisely. Di Maria + Coentrao + £51m was offered last week apparently, which again, would make our squad a hell of a lot stronger. Caulker on the other hand is a very promising player and I don't think we could get a replacement who is as good as he is for £8m (and we would have to replace him).
