McLaren has all the charm of a wet weekend. If he can do a coaching job and STAY in the background, that's fine, but please TF et al, don't ever expect him to have a personality. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Ladies and Gentlemen, the insomniacs friend, Mr Steve McLaren.

Because you, I and the rest of us know that a deal was done for McLaren to take over from Harry when things go completely pear-shape ....... or if Harry's playing in his monthly medal at the golf club.
I can tell you, even Ray Charles can see clear as day, that Mclaren is here for the long haul and Harrys' not.
I can also tell you this club has more 'comings & goings' than the local brothel.

But if that's the case, surely we need to support both the man in charge and his heir apparent. If he can do with us what he did with Boro and FC Twente first time around, then I think we'll all be happy. And if he doesn't get the chance to, then Harry will have done a good job, and we'll be sniffing around the automatic promotion slots come the end of the season.

It's not a perfect solution, but it has the potential to be a win-win for the club...

So it's you that sits outside with a video camera and a notebook. I always wondered who that was when I popped down for "Happy Hour".

I don't understand why some people are so against McClaren. I think he is a very good coach, just look at his club record as others have already mentioned. Forget about England, even Morinhuo would struggle to get any success out of the England team.

Is he replacing Glyn Hodges (who?) who left this wek to team up with Hughes again and is Coterill still at the club?

Not really. None of that makes any sense or any good for us.

I was going to reserve my thoughts till the season started with the team set in motion - but I'd like to stay positive on this one. It'd be nice for us to put up a fight and get back up right away, so for the moment I can only hope it all means good things.

Get off the booze mate it's making your brain turn to mush <laugh>

As a coach there's no complaints from me, got good experience for good teams in UK & Europe, wouldn't want as a manager though.

All is good 'Yappy' ........... I guess I'm up for always stirring the pot, not to mention getting my two bob's in as well.
As I said, I've never like Mclaren. He may prove to be an excellent coach, may be even manager but I can only be honest and say how I feel ................. and my gut feeling has always been,
the guy is as inviting as a fart in an elevator, almost a clone of Hughes when talking about personality .............. but unlike Hughes, that doesn't mean he can't do some good stuff for our club.

Sincerely hope I'm proven wrong. I guess I'm a bit gun shy after the 'Joke from Stoke' did his thing to us. McLaren just seems to how come out of the blue.
Like you, at the end of the day, I really only want the best for our club. My opinion/ wants, means zip.

Maybe he has been brought in for the comedy value. With Barton now back in training, can you imagine how funny it would be to listen to a conversation between those two with their brilliant accents.

Harry knows what he's doing, all the other players watching that will be wetting themselves and it will be great for morale.

I've just read this and have to say I'm with the "happy" brigade on this one.

The bloke (as a coach) has done it at top level in 3 diffrent countries. If he can get us playing a mix of Man utds, Dutch & German football then we really have no reason not to be feared.
the England job was always gonna fail and was just a set up i think.

My one and only concern is that when (not if) Harry does a runner, are we gonna get stuck with him as manager or will we get someone else in?

As for you SB...Id happily have Hoddle as a long term manager..but thats for a diffent thread.
Now we will se which of our players want to perform up to thier talents.

So how long before I'm alloweed to start another "Tarbs is great in the NPC" thread?..NUTS? <laugh>

What do you mean?! Taarabt can't even PLAY at prem level in a quality, settled and stable team like QPR, let alone NPC? Just take a look at this:

Sorry mate, cant load on my comp at work.

I'm guessing its the same old Tarbs video that you usually trot out every time his name is mentioned? Either that or something similar.

think you got the wrong end of the stick mate.

I'll have a lok when i get home in a couple of hours.. Cheers <ok>
