At a recent Q&A Steve Lansdown was asked whether Hollowhead was considered for the job...

    Lansdown replied: No f**king Way

Just read the OTIB thread and this is Lanny's comment on there, don't want Lanny seeing me for plagiarism <ok>

SL said SODS PR was `bloody awful` and everyone including the board and SL were getting dragged down to his depressing, non ambitious level

Perhaps I don't have enough 'je me sais que' about me, but I quite admire Ollie and would not have been upset to see him at the helm at AG.

That said, SC seems to be doing ok so I'm happy for the moment.

I agree. Ian Holloway has done well to get two teams promoted, and to spend some time in the Premier League over the past few years. People on here bitch about Rovers fans praising Holloway as if he's one of their own, but then they bitch about him as if he is.

Whatever I and others think about Holloway, he is the first (Greater) Bristol born top tier English league manager for sixty years. Thus while we don't like him, he does deserve some respect for this achievement.

Having said that my opinion of him is totally unprintable on this family website!
PS. It's nice to know that SL apparently shares my opinion!

Yes a Bristol born and bred top manager,we certainly like kicking our own in the goolies on here.
I doubt if SL would have used the f word more like no we did not make contact.

Warnock was spoken with, but it was decided not to take it further.

Apart from the fact that he played for and managed 'the others' I've no massive objection to Holloway and would have welcomed him as our manager.
But Cotts is our man and he's going to lead us to safety this season, and back to the Championship next year

"we certainly like kicking our own in the goolies on here"

    Where do I start.

This from a man who labelled Ryan Taylor " crap, crap, crap" only a few days ago on here and has slated every manager We have had for as long as I have been on here..

And secondly, He's not one of our 'own', he hates us and only plays a media game when talking about us after seeing the hatred he had brought upon himself after the pitch invasion at Ashton gate beamed live on Sky. He wouldn't have come here (and has openly said so.!) and he wouldn't be wanted by the VAST majority of fans..

Je ne sais quoi -- Oui.

    Non.

I'm gobsmacked that SL said about Holloway that in public???

I certainly don't miss those awful SoD post match interviews - cringeworthy

I am pretty sure SL would NOT have said "no fcuking way".........
He may have had a wry smile or something but no way would he have said it like that imo.
    Funny thought though!

Having attended Q&A's before an observation is that Mr Lansdown talks straight normally, sometimes he is brusque and curt, he is also often humorous. When the media are asked to leave Q&A's, and they are he can be even more straight talking using a universal langaugae all understand.
