If we beat Blackburn on Sunday will Steve Kean keep his job ? He must be close to the sack, as I doubt the new owners will stand for many more defeats, before pushing the button. Not much luck against Everton, lets hope even less against us. Scott Dann was a good buy, but they've lost Dunn, Neilson and Pedersen to injury and Emerton went back to Aussieland. Is Kean another coach who can't make the step up. Do the Vinckeys really have the money ? Would Mark Hughes step back in. Is this the big club he has been waiting to come calling.
If blackburn fail horribly and show no improvement, Kean's exit is possible. Not sure about Hughes. Probably not a good move for either Blackburn or Hughes, who's out there gaining experience so he can take over a "big" club. Hughes is an idiot. I bet his next club is at the Championship level.
I don't think Kean will get the push for quite a while yet. The owners gave him a long contract last season, and I suspect they won't want to have to pay it up quite so quickly. Whether Hughes would go back will depend on just how deep their pockets really are. I agree it wouldn't be the kind of move he had in mind when he walked away from us, but it could be the best he's going to get. If Moyes leaves Everton anytime soon, I could see Hughes (as an ex-Everton player) going there next, but other than that I don't see him getting a foot into the upper echelons of the Premier League anytime soon.
Outside Fergusen, I think Moyes is the best manager in the league and has been for years. In fact, I think he's heir-aparent for Fergusen's job since Roy Keane has been a failure as a manager. Mark Hughes probably fancies himself as the next ManU manager, but I can't see it at this point. I think Wenger's the best and nurturing young talent.
Absolutely agree DR, Moyes swims the Channel in diving boots every season, really, and deserves to get a job at a very top club. he seems to be an excellent man manager as well as coach. If Hughes took his place I could forsee problems - Everton, unless they get taken over, have zero money and I don't think Huges would be able to operate on such a constrained budget. He strikes me as someone like Redknapp - wants to be guaranteed to have a reasonable sum to spend.
Fulhaman ... yes Moyes is a wonder. Limited budget, cheap owners, and he still has the team finishing in the top 6 most years. I don't know how he does it. When he finds talent, the owners sell it. When he nurtures talent (Rooney), the owners sell it. Remember what a mess Everton was before Moyes? Every year, just scraping by under people like Walter Smith. He deserves sainthood.
Demps is bang on there, Moyes is a fantastic manager, part of the Glasgow mafia that is managing the prem these days. Agree he is manager in waiting for United but Fergie will be there for many a moon yet. As for Keano, him and Cookie were a great partnership who to be fair to both of them they got us playing quite well. Since he took over at Blackburn his remit has changed. Before the Venky's got involved I would have said that he was a good manager for Blackburn. His lack of experience would have been accepted as they did not seem to be going anywhere. However, I cannot see him lasting too long. Be a shame for him but I cannot help but feel he should have done a shift in the Championship first in order to prepare him for the prem. Whatever happens to him, wish him all the best, except for tomorrow. Keano, Keano. COYW
If ( I hope not) Blackburn give us a thrashing ie 3/4 nil, what will our fans on this board be saying.
