Looks very likely to go through to me ( I don't usually put these on until I'm sure )

He hasn't been risked in either of Derby's friendlys now, so that would appear to suggest their protecting him until the deal goes through.

Clough has also said he expects him to leave at some point shortly.

I guess he could always be joining another club, however, I've a good feeling it will be us.

I read earlier he's scored 24 in 49 starts, which is a fantastic record. However, getting him onto the pitch is a different kettle of fish! Lets see what happens the coming week.

    I think it'll happen.

Apparently Derby have enquired about Connor Salmon too, perhaps to replace Davies.

Davies will leave, it's just a case of when and who he moves to.

It looks like we are unable/ unwilling to up our bid. derby are unwilling to drop their valuation and other teams are supposed to be interested. It doesnt look too promising to me.

    I think it's likely.

He's explained he's definitely leaving, we rightly are playing hardball. However, if your not going to play someone in friendlies for fear of injury, they will have to lower their valuation.

We're playing this quite cleverly, I think it'll get sorted soon.

I can see the logic Westlake but I can also see some other team paying the money whilst we try to save £250k. The player has said that he wants to move nearer to his family in London but I have heard other players doing something similar in the past and then they move in totally the opposite geographic direction because extra money is offered and they decide that is actually what they want. I guess I am just not very confident with our ability to tie up deals any more.

Sky Sports are reporting Bristol City are talking to Derby about signing him.

If he goes to Bristol City ( where I live ) he clearly isn't very good at geography........

He's apparently leaving Derby to be nearer to London. Just gone on AA route planner, put in Bristol and Derby, to London/London ( don't ask ! ) and Bristol is 10.5 miles closer...........

Hmmmmm! If he goes there I'll be very interested to read his comments!

Christ,if I could have had a cider for every time I've heard that one I would be dead.

On a lighter note,do fishfingers work on a barbeque?

Finally some proper conversation, I would say fish fingers would be fine on a bbq. My recomendation would be to cook them as slowly as possible and as always ensure the food is piping hot throughout before serving.
