I don't remember a time during the name change campaign that the fans didn't get behind the players

I wonder if he said to the chairman "stop making yourself look a **** on national tv"?

I'm pretty sure all the fans get behind the players.

Yet in the deluded minds of some they seem to think CTWD hate the club...

Bruce must be so pissed off with this, but what else can he say. The question is how much more of this is he prepared to take before he walks?

I disagree. How does it affect his job as manager?

Well it can't be easy for him. He might strongly disagree with the name change, but he isn't going to say that in the media. By the way I think he is doing a fantastic job for us. I hope he stays for a long time, because he is the best manager we have ever had. It just must be hard for him trying to act the peacemaker.

I need a bit more than that.

Tell me how it affects his job as manager.

Yes I'll tell you. He should just be able to focus on the football and players. As it is Allam keeps going to the press and having a rant (usually at important times for the club) so Bruce is always asked questions about that instead of focusing on his manager's job. Who knows what Steve Bruce really thinks because whilst he wants to keep his job he can't tell Allam he doesn't like it in the same way that he doesn't want to alienate the fans by saying he agrees with it. He is piggy in the middle and it would be so much easier for him to jump ship if he was offered a post at another club with a sane owner who actually valued the supporters. Hows that for a reason.

We do get behind the team and we don't moan, we just want to retain our traditional football club name.

If the FA ratifies the name change it will be a huge embarrassment to Steve Bruce.

    <ok>

I'm sure he'd go back to , say, Wigan or Norwich etc where he has links, and he doesn't have this farce going on.

I suggest Bruce and the lads to stay out of the argument. Everyone, which side of the fence you're on backs them to the hilt.

I'd have hoped Allam would've kept it schtum until the FA had managed to make a decision, but that's obviously too much to ask.

    Agree.

Time to move on and wait until April to see what happens. No one is saying we aren't backing the team but this constant name change venting is distracting to everyone. Bored of it. I want to turn up on a Saturday and celebrate the place we are at in the league and in general.
Much as I hate the idea he can do as he wants and we will still be the same team.

It would have been better had SB said to his boss "Stop sulking over the Hull City Council rebuff and get in sync with the rest of the football world."

Every time it dies down it is Allam who comes out with a ridiculous statement and starts it off again. He should have just kept quiet. The supporters are behind the team and always have been.

    Ignore it.

    It takes two to argue.

How's that for a reason? Fairly underwhelming, I'd say.

I think it's only an issue at press conferences and the like, when he's asked about it. I doubt very much that it crosses his mind when he's out on the training pitch with the players.

    How so?

I could understand it if we'd been in freefall, but we're 10th, for ****'s sake. How is it distracting?

    Are you thick.

He has made several public appeals for fans to leave it and get back to the football agenda.

So it is very public ally affecting him! Or he wouldn't keep appealing.

We should be celebrating the team and talking about positive things like the impact on the profile of Hull.

That's being lost or undermined by this constant obsession with going on about it. It doesn't mean it isn't important but there is so much more to be proud of.
