Shrewd signing from Fulham if they get Stekelenberg. Wasn't he wanted by a couple of top clubs a while back? I saw him play in the euros and he impressed me

    Hi Guys, Fulham fan here.

I think your speculation is right that you will be able to get Stocky for about 2m if it comes to it. Skippy Schwarzer on a free would be a great option too - but you'll only get him if you guarantee him first choice - I think he's still good enough for the prem for at least a couple of years, though obviously Stockdale could be with you for 10 or more.

    Good Luck!

I'll be well pissed off if we get Stockdale for £2m. Could get Mannone for half that or push the boat out and get Schmeichel, both much better keepers.

Interesting. I would not be against taking both Mark Schwarzer and David Stockdale off Fulham either. With the later for the long term. MS on a years deal with an option if we stay up. Stockdale has to be a great long term propect imo. Certainly SB has many options.

I wouldn't necessarily call it 'hate'. Stockdale is a good Championship Goalkeeper, and he's most definitely not worth £4million. He's probably worth more around the £1million mark in all honesty. I'd much rather have Mannone if we were to get a keeper around £1million anyway.

Stockdale isn't a bad keeper. Far from it infact. However, I can't see him single-handedly earning us vital points in some games like I can Mannone or Schmeichel. For example, Boaz at White Hart Lane where it finished 0-0.

On the other hand can you see stocko single handedly giving away point like boaz did to get browny the sack or whenever mannone made that total hash (can't remember who it was against)?

I can't. We need steady. Stockdales steady. Kasper's more like an alpha romeo or an old 2 stroke race bike.

If steady means he can't get down quickly to make low-shot saves, which he will be getting plenty of.. he certainly is the keeper we want!

I'm going to say this, and I know it's somewhat of an accusation, but it's something that's been on my mind...

Do you think Stockdale is a bit...tubby?

I'm not trying to be a bitch! I just think he might be.

Every week I used to tell Tricky that Stockers was a bit rotund. He wasn't so sure.

    Discuss.
