While Jackson didn't have his worst game of the season, he was nowhere near his dedicated position for either Rochdale goal -- and, in fact, the Gills crossbar made more interceptions than Jackson.

    1. Bonham ( with the help of the crossbar, made 3 vital saves. )
    2. Oliver - in acknowledgement of his 'poached' goal.
    3. Akinde - --- ditto ----
    4. The crossbar -- a pity it won't get the deserved recognition for keeping out Rochdale (I swear that I saw the bar trying to bend down in an effort to get lower to the ground.)
    5. gioblues - for having a sense of humour.

Graham was at fault for first goal.
I am not only one who thought Jackson played well.

I agree that Graham didn't help much - defensively - but - THAT is not his main role in the team . Jackson's lack of ability has been responsible for several goals conceded this season.
I know that I regularly 'knock' Jackson - but - he gives me so many opportunities..... I actually liked him when he was previously with the Club - but - his performances since his return has illustrated why he couldn't retain his place in League 2 side.... Fuller would have been a better choice ( even given that Fuller's legs would have struggled )
I am sure that Ryan is a jolly good chap - but, sadly, he is not a good enough footballer - even for Gillingham.

I have not been impressed with Jackson either this season and wanted Fuller to stay. So if he has a good game I will say so

    Let's pretend I'm wrong !.....
I will always respect that everyone is entitled to their opinion....I readily accept that I am not always right - but, I am often confused by the announcement, at Gills home matches, of the Sponsors ''Man-of-the-match.' It usually is the player who may have scored the games' only goal - but was probably awful throughout the rest of the game....I expect that Scally has, by the 88th minute, plied the sponsors with soporific alcohol - to induce memory loss - so as to encourage further sponsorship ! ... A rare moment of good play, in a match, can give a very wrong impression....

So, let's just pretend that Jackson was 'Man-of-the-match' --------- I can only ( realistically ), respond by saying that ; '' It is a sad indictment of the quality of the performance - against a(nother) 'low' side in the division, that the fans award much praise for a (usually) poor defender and the goalkeeper ( who also has had much criticism this season. )''

Personally I've always liked Jackson, by that I mean I would select him. He plays a system the manager places him in, it does not mean it is his favoured tactics, he just does what he is told to do - I get for some what he does is not enough.

Whereas in the opposite side of the coin, I wouldn't play Oliver or Samuels, I'm undecided on Akinde. Yeah but....Oliver scored yesterday. Again not his fault, I just would not play in the style that Evans persists.

The players are doing enough to keep us in L1, you can't really knock the lads for that, the rest comes down to managers choices and style of play. I think we should be pushing for the play-offs. But where's Trae Coyle I assume he's left. Where's the striker we require during the transfer window, I've got more chance of pigs flying.

With players like Graham and Dempsey on the pitch, and a decent striker, we should be knocking goals in left, right and centre. Not scraping for a point in the the 93rd minute.

If we had someone like Dack back and in the side now, doing his own thing, we would be awesome, that's the only subtle change it needs - only problem is we can't afford a Dack anymore. We'd be ok for a 34 year old Cody though, albeit on crunches but it would be fun, just to see that little smile on PegLeg's face. <laugh>

Disclaimer; don't take me too seriously, everythng said tongue in cheek.

Oliver has 8 goals so far and I think no pens. So on that form should get 15. Kedwell most he got was 14 in a season inc pens.

Then maybe Northampton should have kept him, I certainly would not have brought him in. Looking at wiki stats, he played 30 games and scored 5 goals!

Keds scored 16 in all comps in 2012/13 season. I don't get the penalty moan thing either. You need to be playing attacking football to win the penalties in the first place and with Kedwell in the side, he gave defenders problems in the right end of the pitch. It's what the quicker players like Graham, Coyle (although he's not here now), Johnson and Dempsey need to do more.

    1. Bonham - Actually feel sorry that he's having to play in this side. Consistent keeper every week but plays for us poor bloke.
    2. Akinde - Did more in ten minutes than Oliver did all game.
    3. Slattery - Although made a couple of rash tackles, he broke up plenty of Rochdale attacks and did a lot of the unnoticeable stuff very well.

Oliver I thought was very poor despite scoring. For someone who was about a foot taller than the Rochdale defenders he didn't win many aerial duels and when he did, the ball often just landed in a zone nowhere near our players. Also spent a lot of the game just sauntering about. Not a good game from him. Graham was also incredibly quiet for a lot of the game and we certainly didn't see the best out of him. Rochdale certainly did their homework to nullify his threat but even when on the ball, he made a lot of misplaced passes.

You hit the nail on the head with Akinde, I'm honestly amazed Evans don't give him more game time. I really don't understand what's going on up front in the gaffers head. Especially over Coyle, what a waste, he won't want to come back here anytime soon, feel sorry for the lad.
