I thought I would leave it until the morning after to make my choices however my opinion hasn't changed on the man of the match of the runner up. It is hard to choose second and third as it is between a few however my opinion had to change when factoring in the whole game. Bywater was close to third however it is hard to choose him after the mistakes although I am not too annoyed with him as it is one mistake and people need to forget about that and I hope he does and moves onto the next game.
It is such a shame that he made that mistakes as he had a really good game and really kept us in the game so it is such a shame that he had to make the mistake. Anyway onwards and upwards and hopefully we can get a good result at Barnsley.

1. Danny Kedwell- This one was an easy choice in my opinion and I can't see how anyone could choose anyone but him. It was a 9 out of 10 performance from Danny. Great chasing all night from him and he was rewarded with a goal for his hard work. If he wasn't as hard worker as he is then he wouldn't have got that goal but due to his hard work and chasing down defenders and the keeper he caused them to make a mistake and got us a goal which played a huge part in the draw.
He was so good last night I personally think it was one of his best games so I was shocked when man of the match was named as Callum Davies as although he done pretty well he was not man of the match. I think Danny sets a great example for the rest of the team because if everyone worked as hard as him then we would win a lot more games and would be right up the top of the league. Like I read the other day if we had 11 Danny Kedwell's then we would win the league easily based on the hard work ethic of the team.

2. John Egan- This was a pretty easy choice as well. I really like the look of Egan. He does look a very good player who is playing beyond his years. He is very organised and seems to work very well with Legge and Hause who both had better games and seem to be getting better as a unit. I really like the look of Egan as he always looks strong, cool and composed which is what we like to see from a centre back. I was very happy when he joined the club as he come with a good pedigree. I am surprised he was let go of by Sunderland as he does look real class with a great future ahead of him.
John was organised all night long and kept making sure that Legge and Hause stayed in their positions and that the ball was cleared as quickly as possible. I think he looks like a future leader as he sets the example and expects the other defenders to follow his example of remaining strong and making sure that we limit the oppositions chances.

3. Kortney Hause- I have to say the choice for third place was really tough although Hause got the goal I wouldn't have picked him if we won 2-1 which sounds weird considering he was part of the defence which we had out there when we conceded the second goal however I would have chosen Bywater if he had not made the mistake like I said earlier on. This means that it was a tough choice between still choosing Bywater even though he had the mistake which I still nearly placed him third place as other than that mistake he played really well and I don't want to be too harsh on him by saying he cost us 2 points as I don't really think overall we looked like we were going to win so it would have been a surprise to hold on after how we played in the first half. I think Bywater kept us in the game and therefore you can't be too harsh on him.

This means that the choice was then between Bywater, Hause, Hessenthaler and Davies in my opinion but it was a really tight decision but I went for Hause who I thought had a really good game as he is starting to look better and much stronger and also he scored a good goal. I think he is starting to look a much better centre back and I really like the look of him now with Egan and Legge. I would still say Bywater is just behind Hause tied with Hessenthaler and Davies as they were a close fourth behind Hause.

I think Hause does look more organised now he has played a few games and after what some people said about him I think they should take it back as he has gone from strength to strength and improved after a poor debut in some people's eyes. I really like the look of this lad and I hope he can continue to improve as he is strong for a young lad and works well with the rest of the defence.

Goalkeepers can suffer for ONE mistake ! Bywater certainly kept Gills in the game in the first half with some good saves. Both keepers fumbled the ball - it's a shame for Bywater that his was in front of the goal.

1. Kedwell - never stopped running - created his goal & was cool about taking his opportunity.
2. Bywater - would have been my top choice but for THAT slip.
3. Hause ( ahead of Dack's 2nd half performance ) -only because he scored a lovely goal to go with his defensive display in the 2nd half.

This was a game when we were under pressure for 65% of the time (I thought it seemed more) and as such the plaudits must go to the defenders.

1. Hause....defended well and took his goal with style.
2. Dack......Worked tirelessly in protecting the back line yet got forward to provide assist for the goal.
3. Bywater..kept us in the game with some good saves, shame he messed up with only 4 minutes to go.

Another absentee vote :)
But seen the highlights and goals, and read an awful lot about this game.

1. 3 points (Man of the Match) - Kedwell
2. 2 points (2nd best performing player) - Hause
3. 1 point (3rd best performing player) – Egan

Keds - Almost to a man, Gills fans at the game are saying Keds ran himself into the ground for the cause as well as chasing a lost cause and tucking away a decent effort.

65% posession for Swindon so my 2nd and 3rd choices are defenders -

Kortney Hause - not only defensively, but what a belter that goal was! Hopefully gets some of those people off his back that were slating him for a poor debut.

John Egan - sounds like he's proving to be a very decent player and reliable with it.

3. 1 point (3rd best performing player) – Hause

Based on reports. Good to see Hause starting to confound his critics a tad.
