    1. Hessenthaler - had a great game -and gave some lovely passes-especially to McGlashan
    2. McGlashan caused real problems for Crewe with his pace. On another day a couple more crosses would have been converted - unlucky to hit a post with his header.
    3. Dack - mainly for first half performance - capped off with a well crafted goal.

...........I also thought that Egan had a great game in defence. I think he's still joint top scorer for Newcastle !

I like this star player competition but making three selections is always more difficult than i thought it would be, i suppose therefore those that gain the points over the season will certainly be justified leaders/winners...so here goes with my choice of a difficult three...

    1. Egan...a game in which the defence were not really required, you really do not become much worse than Crewe of this current season, how sad to see their demise in the team. But Egan looks the part and so much in command. Certainly fitting wearing the number four shirt, i think he could fast become a Gills favourite.

    2. Dack...beauty of a goal but in truth we should have been wiping Crewe off the pitch. This lad never stops running and never gives up. Although i do feel his reigns are slightly more controlled and pulled in this season, no problem with that though, nothing worse than a knackered headless chicken. This lad will thrive even more as the season goes on, i can see him becoming the sort of player that will grab you a last minute playoff winner...i'm allowed to dream.

    3. McGlashan...you don't go off to the biggest applause for no reason...sorry not number one for me though and i can actually give a reason for that...seems to lack that final little edge...can't make out if that is fitness or whether he is not the complete article...time will tell.

I think this was the toughest game to pick a top 3 as it was a real team effort as there wasn't anyone who massively stood out as I think all players are at least 7 out of 10 but no one was 10 out of 10 so it was hard to pick the top 3 and not everyone will agree with these choices.

    1. Egan- I think Egan was brilliant today, he was the player who I feel was the best. He was so solid and looks so commanding with the way him and Hause worked today Legge will struggle to get in the team if we are to play 4 at the back. I think the defence looked the most stable this season and Egan held the defence together which is brilliant considering his young age. He is strong in the air and good at tackling and looks the full package and I am growing to really like him.

    2. McGlashan- He was named man of the match however he was behind Egan in my opinion. I think if he had set up a goal or scored one then he would have been my man of the match but I think Egan was better and held the team together at the back however McGlashan kept on breaking down the wing and creating chances. He looks like an upgrade on Weston as he seems better at playing the ball into the box. I really like him and if he keeps playing like this he will hold down a starting 11 place.

    3. Dack- This was a tough choice it was between Hessenthaler, Kedwell and Dack for a close third and Hause wasn't far behind. Just like I said it was really tough to choose a top 3 however I think Dack was quality today. He worked very hard and didn't stop running and also scored a very good goal which is why he was just ahead of the others. I think Dack is getting better and better and has gone from strength to strength.

very tough today to pick top three players as this was our best performance this season which we should have won by more than two goals.
1st Hessy brilliant again today looks a real prospect.
2nd Hause easily his best game
3rd Morris midfield looks much more solid and gives the freedom for Dack to get forward.
the back 4 all played well so really could have been anyone of them and obviosly Dack and mcglasion played very well

Very difficult today as everyone played so well, but I will go for,
1 Dack- Great goal, some fantastic passes and worked so hard
2 McGlashen- Pace caused Crewe problems all game and was always a threat
3 Hess junior- So composed and spread the ball around really well

Yet again it's almost impossible to choose 3 players as you could easily put up the argument for any of the team.

    1. Egan.
    2. Martin.
    3. Dack.

Looks like a chance for a few players to close the gap on Keds this game, going by current voting. Keep the votes coming please, you have until tomorrow evening to post your selection.

Absentee, and sounds like any of the X1 could have got votes.
But goals win games, so -

1 Dack - can't wait to see his goal.
2 Cody - What he's there for, stick away a chance
3 Egan - sounds like he is going to be solid at the back

    1. Jermaine McGlashan - Tore up the Crewe full back and ran himself into the ground.
    2. John Egan - Dominated the air and commanded the line very well.
    3. Joe Martin - Solid return from injury, Dack was coming central often and leaving Martin exposed. Martin still made forward runs and defended well also.
