the F A are looking into the possibility of safe standing areas of stadiums, good idea or what ?, the first 12 rows should double that attendance, so we might get 60,000 for the derbies !

Thje safe standing they have in mind would make very little difference to the capacity as it still allows your your own space to sit as well.. I think the German model they are thinking about would be great and i would be all for it..

If it helps with the atmosphere I'm all for it.

Our atmosphere is poor the majority of the time, not helped by on the field performances.

    The capacity wouldn't change.

The first 12 rows? I'd feel sorry for those sitting in row 13 and 14.

I have been banging on about this for years, don't see one negative against it though clubs might not by keen due to cost.

It's safer, offers people choice and will improve match day experience too.

Also I think it would increase capacity... certainly not double but I read something before and it's something like 1.3 to 1.

Still don't think it will happen though... the FA can't do **** all without a law change anyway.

    Correct me if I'm wrong
I think that they will have areas in the ground where you are allowed to stand and watch the match.
But no change in the seating conditions so you can sit down at half time

Yeah every ground in the country has an area like that where it happens and this is the point.

Nope the seats will be bolted up so you can't sit on them but can be put down for European games to satisfy UEFA rules.

    This is Celtics:

There must be more room with standing surely, at Celtic 2 supporters can stand behind each other rather than 1 seated great idea. I meant the area below the walk way, I thought it was 12 maybe 16 rows.

What's your obsession with attendances Monty? You lot sell out your stadium once per season.

You can't! One spectator per place! If Celtic are cramming more in there it's from people vacating their seat elsewhere in the ground to join that stand. Capacity doesn't change! We can't fill our ground now. The SoL needs to be smaller not bigger.

I think it can increase slightly mate. Yes one spectator per place and you'll still have a 'seat' number so to speak.

As I said earlier I swear I read something saying you get 1.2/3 places for every seat, no idea how it works though. I'll try and find the article.

How can it be a slight increase if you're going from 1.0 seat pp to 1.2 seats pp. That doesn't make sense. Surely that would mean a decrease.

Sorry, I meant for every spectator in an all seater you can get 1.2/3 with safe standing. So for example 1000 would become 1200 etc.

Very rarely, I've had two... ever, out of about 500 attempts.

Thanks Monty. In keeping with the theme of useless comments, here are the lyrics for the first couple of verses to Scatman John's hit single, 'I'm A Scatman'.
    I'm the Scatman

Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
    (I'm the Scatman)
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub

    Ba-da-ba-da-ba-be bop bop bodda bope
    Bop ba bodda bope
    Be bop ba bodda bope
    Bop ba bodda
    Ba-da-ba-da-ba-be bop ba bodda bope
    Bop ba bodda bope
    Be bop ba bodda bope
    Bop ba bodda bope

Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
Ski-bi dibby dib yo da dub dub
    Yo da dub dub
