Who do you want to start alongside Mills in defence this season?

For me it has to be St Ledger, he knows this division and has always performed solidly, and I think him and Mills would be an awesome partnership, similar to Elliott and Taggart. I'm still unconvinced by Bamba, he seems far too clumsy, he is a catastrophe waiting to happen.....

I think it will be Bamba and Mills. I hope Bamba cuts out some of his mistakes as they would be solid

Huddersfield fans think they are signing Gally <laugh>

Dont worry Hayley has already killed the rumours. Gally is staying

I'd say St Ledger for bigger games to ensure a clean sheet, and Bamba for the other games, i hope they both get about 20+ games this season tbh, cause at £5m, Mills won't be on the bench.

    Don't forget Tunchev ...

Fact is sven now has 4 very decent central defenders - last time we were this strong at the nack was Walsh, Elliott, Tags and Gilchrist ... happy days beckon

After seeing the match on that youtube vid, i'd pick St Ledger, Mills is good, but he cant do it on his own.

    whoever plays better <whistle>

I'd argue Tunchev is a better choice than both. I have my doubts about St Ledger and Bamba is clumsy. Which I don't get because he can play some lovely stuff. One minute he's doing step overs and skinning 3 men, next he's tripping over the ball.

I know its a friendly but bamba got ridiculously skinned by a simple turn for the valencia goal, it was embarassing, and as a lot of people have said, his form has not been great back end of last season. Having mills with him will hopefully help. If hes attacking corners or bringing the ball out of defence he looks like a prem player. But hes judged on being a solid defender. I dont care if he scores no goals or doesno party tricks so long as he keeps 15-20 clean sheets next season.eave the tricks to the front line.

Agreed, but the frustrating thing is he was doing everything right in his first 8 games, he looked the complete defender - solid, comfortable in possession, vocal, good in the air, a threat from corners. I really want him to recapture that form.

probably bamba, as when the ball is in the air, our box or their box, i have no nerves at all. Though when he gets clumsy, St Ledger i imagine will take over and end first choice. Tunchev could easily force himself in with his class though!!

we were told by hibs fans he was either brilliant or cack,im hoping sven et al can sort him out and develop him as if you say he plays like his opening 2 months with us then we have a great athletic goalscoring defender on our hands.

If Tunch proves his fitness, it would be no contest! Tunch and mills would not only be the best for us but would be the best
in this league, IMO St Ledger would be my 1st replacement for injury or ban's cant make my mind up over Bamba, Somtimes
looks brill then he does silly things that could cost us a goal

SGE needs to find his best back 4 & quick because it´ll be a massive part of our season. For the record, I´d love to see Tunch & Mills in the centre.

I too would chose Tunchev, he is quality and if fit is our best defender. He is better than Mills. It's good to have these dilemmas but I think whichever combination is used will pretty much be as strong as any other.

Mills Tunchev, Mills Bamba, Mills SSL, SSL Tunchev, SSL Bamba, Tunchev Bamba if we lined up with any of those pairings we would be solid.

I wouldn't mind seeing Bamba as a defensive midfielder, maybe it wouldn't work but would be worth giving a go to add a bit of steel to our midfield.
