His continued presence in our squad is an abomination. On the up side, with Gervinho signing, positive news about Nasri and Cesc, Essien's injury and Sneider likely to stay at Inter, overall its been a good day for us! Thoughts?

I think we'll sign another CB, and the pressure will be off Squillaci. He'll still get games, but probably in the CC and FA cup - He may actually have a really good season <ok>

Squillaci came in to be first choice, and is probably therefore on very decent wages. Compare that with Koscielny who came in to be backup and is on somewhere between 25 + 30k/wk. Squils is the wrong side of 30 and has had a bad season. His resale value is minimal and another team most likely won't match his wages, so he can't be sold.

It's the same standard story. Bendtner and Denilson are reportedly struggling for moves due to wages. Almunia is going to be sold for just £500,000 - he's reportedly on £80,000/wk!!

Offloading the players you don't want is very difficult when they're on first-team wages. Parity is great if all your team are good, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
