So this is our squad as it stands at the moment players will be added as and when they are signed. Milldenhall - GK Michael Smith - RB Tom Parkes - DC Mark McChrystal - DC Tom Lockyer - DC Lee Brown - LB Danny Greenslade - D Ollie Clarke - MC Dominic Thomas - M Lee Mansell - MC Stuart Sinclair - MC Jake Gosling - W Ellis Harrison - F/W Ryan Brunt - F Jamie Lucas - F Matt Taylor - F Aaron Ward-Baptiste - F Jamie White - F Donovan Wilson - F
So that's who we got so far. We have a staggering eight Forwards in the squad one GK, six in defence, three wingers and two midfielders. So we don't need any more forwards I can see a couple going out on loan unless DC tries to convert one of them into a winger. We definitely need two experienced MC (if possible) this position is non existent within the squad at the present time. Not sure where in defence Danny Greenslade plays so I would say another couple are required across the back four And of course we need a number to GK I would suggest a youngster from say a Premiership or Championship team probably unlikely though
Defence looks half decent! Dare I say it but we have at least 3 league 1/2 quality players back there. The attack will be a mystery it all depends on how good this Jamie white guy is! We know what were getting with Harold and brunt (20-25 goals between them if they're lucky) and the rest look to be either loaned out or sat on the bench with the odd sub appearance. Will judge the rest once the new signings have arrived not overly happy about the current crop we have on the wings. Two kids on the wing, one which we know doesn't want to be here and lacks any real quality! The other (being the new signing) is again a mystery but I want get my hopes up as he doesn't look like he has the physical attributes to be effective when running at opponents. Why didn't we keep Mohamed ?? Strong on the ball, scored the odd goal and was our only real threat when breaking away on the counter, dare I say it but he's the only winger that's got the crowed going since Haldane or carryole. DC has said he likes playing with speed yet he doesn't re sign the only player we had with pace!.
in red i have put my opinion on them, if im right, we still are in my eyes 10 - 12 players short of getting a team to challenge for top 5.
If we get off to great start we may get some offers. But there are a lot of pros out there and not many clubs are going to be seriously looking at newly relegated players. A lot of our players now have something to prove so hopefully this bodes well for a good start to the season.
Actually its quite a thought. If Mildenhall stays who is our back up keeper? Connor Gough has been released and Macey went to Arsenal so what happens if Mildenhall gets crocked. And I'm now assuming the game with Arsenal as part of the deal will occur as the opening friendly of our new stadium when its ready.
dont, worry we will get a keeper in not just to be back up to mildenhall but to compete and push mildenhall.
This guy in my work knows a guy who lives next door to a guy who's brother knows everything about Rovers and he says either Brian Parkin or Gavin Kelly are coming back
